Best place for the stuffy and slothful?

My husband and I are not the sporty types, and we don't dive. We want to find some lush, quiet, old-fashioned place where we can read, eat well, and maybe hike through a rainforest--but be back in time for afternoon tea. We don't need to be on the beach, but it would be nice if we coud walk there. It would also be nice if the difference between the vacationing "haves" and the local "have nots" weren't so glaring we felt guilty all the time. Suggestions?

I thought Burmuda got cold in the winter. Is that not true?

Yes it does. Sorry, you did not say when you would be traveling.

check out some of the places at Nevis-I've not been, but according to what I've heard, it sounds like an ideal place!
