Best Itinerary - Brazil, Puerto Rico, Dom Republic and Cuba

Hi,

We are two guys who want to travel for four weeks from 24-Dec-2016 to 20-Jan-2017.
We want to travel in Central America and South America especially to places which are fun from a single guy's point of view (beautiful beaches, parties and girls of course). We prefer the four countries - Brazil, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Cuba and if time permits one more country.

Can you please suggest which are the best countries (and cities in those countries) which can be covered in four weeks time in Central and South America?

And can you please suggest the best way to travel between the above four countries and how many days you think is best to spend in each of these countries?

We can spend 4000 pounds and stretch up to 5000 pounds.

P.S : We have been to Cancun, so please don't add that to your suggestion. And if you think there is better countries than the above four mentioned, please do suggest.

Thanks and looking forward to your suggestion.

Hi mericky,

of these places I've only been to Cuba which could easily take 3-4 weeks by itself to see properly, and I'm pretty certain that the same can be said of Brazil which is a huge country.

My feeling is that you have not received much response because your query is too wide and your ambitions too great. I would suggest looking a a few guides that are aimed at single travellers [Lonely planet and the Rough Guides spring to mind] find some places that you like the look of, and then consider how you are going to get between them. Travelling from one place to another can be fun, but it can also eat up time if you are spending a lot of time in airports.

You also don't have a lot of time for planning this trip so you need to get a move on.

You could also look at the itineraries that tour companies offer - not necessarily to do a tour but to see where they go and what they do there. Intrepid travel is one such company; here are some ideas of what they have on offer in December:

You could also look at Trailfinders:

Good luck!

4-6 weeks to see the highlights of Brazil. About U$70-100 per day. Learn Portuguese if you want to get to know Brazilians.

SambaChula - Brazil would certainly fit their bill but i don't think they're going to learn Portuguese in a month! A few words may be.

Guys - Thanks you very much for your responses.

I seem to have started a cyber war between two nice people here.
I DID NOT intend to do that.

All I asked was suggestions about how I plan my itinerary and yes, I did mention girls, as being a young and single guy, I would like to meet nice single girls and spend some nice time with them, be it just have a drink, or go about places together with them or go to a party with them.
If, according to you, it was offensive in any way, I apologise.

We are just two guys who want to go on a holiday with our lifetimes' savings, and have a memorable holiday.

Thanks again.

As Bassguy66 said!

And annhig gave you good advice.

My only suggestion is that you narrow it down to 2-3 countries.

And FWIW - when I was 19 I traveled through Europe with a girlfriend - stayed at youth hostels (are they still around?)- and we met and hung out with plenty of local guys.

So go and enjoy!

Here's actually a good bit of advice from the link SambaChula posted:

"Suggest you book a hotel where young, foreign singles hang out..... I've seen many nice, good looking foreign girls, traveling usually in groups, having a fantastic time..."
