Best island?
We're going to celebrate 25 years of marriage and really love the carribean.
We have been to St. Thomas for our honeymoon, Paradise Island 2 years ago, and Provo (TCI) last summer. St. Thomas is a little too far away ($ and I like to kimit my time in the air). We liked PI and the shopping in Nassau. Loved the quiet and food on Provo. Is there a quiet, beautiful, good food island that you can take a ferry to a busier Nassau like place? |
How about staying on Anguilla, and ferrying over to St. Martin? Sounds like it might be what you are looking for.

Consider Bermuda.
Don't know where you are flying from, however it doesn't take long to get there from the east coast. The island is beautiful and clean. If you stay in Hamilton you can shop till your heart's content. Lots of good restaurants - but eating out can get expensive. Consider the meal plan at your hotel. I have stayed at Grotto Bay Beach hotel. This complex has a lot to offer including caves on the complex and it's own beach. Will have to travel to town though. Visitors can only rent mopeds... but taxis and public transportation works just fine if a moped intimidates you. Also check Princess Hamilton ( in town) really can't go wrong with any of the major complexes.. also heard Harmony club is good - all inclusive. We went for our honeymoon 13 years ago and then back again once since. Wonderful place!! |
We'll be flying from Denver. Anguilla looks a little far. Does Bermuda have warm, clear water? Any other suggestions?

Actran,
Bermuda does have clear waters. Remember you are in the Atlantic, so it will be a lot more rough with waves etc. Church Bay is one snorkel spot, however, it was a bit too choppy for me. Several other snorkel areas and great dive areas. Calm beach can be found near the town of St. George - ( sorry can't remember the name). Water temp as well as air temp can be much cooler than the Caribbean. Summer months are warmest. Nov- April it can get into the 60's. A lot more to see on Bermuda than just beach. Beautiful gardens, caves, churches, lots of shopping, perfumery, forts, lighthouses etc. On our first visit, my husband and I put 400 miles on the scooter in one week (no joke) and the island is only 20 miles long!! Have fun choosing! |
