Best diving (besides the Caymans)???

I'm new to diving. Would like to know the best dive destination besides the Caymans. I've been to the Caymans and will likely return in a few years but not soon. So...where is the best diving and why?? Thanks.

Choose only a place with a reef system.

Not that I am an expert but a friend is a dive instructor and he has lead dive trips to Tortola, Bonaire, and Belize. I know he had a great time at each place.

Bonaire, Curacao, Belize, Islands off of Honduras (Roatan, etc),

We loved the Abacos, Bahamas. Our recommendation of a dive outfit there is Brendal's. Truly a unique experience.

We have been diving in the BVI's, but aside from the Wreck of the Rhone (pretty darn cool), I thought the sea life was better in the Bahamas.

Have fun!

Bonaire is rising to the top of dive destinations. Partly because they have so much to offer in shore dives. Also you might want to look at Turks and Caicos.

try looking at dominica-very untouristed lots to do on and off land and with a rain forest and coral reefs full of healthy plants.

we went to Hopetown in the abacos, the island is beautiful, small and fun, the snorkeling and scuba was awesome. there is a great reef there.
