Best Caribbean Island to go January thru March
I am a mother of a 2yr old and need to get away long-term to heal from a thyroid disorder. I want to go to an island that is very warm but not blistering HOT. White sandy beaches, CLEAR water, and furnished housing is a must! I would like to spend less than $33/day in housing. I am a FOODIE so the food MUST be delicious. I need to be able to go to a nearby market, take hot showers, call the US, and watch TV/DVDs. I Love beauty, and SCENIC locations...I am a visual person. Being able to look off the beach and see other island is a must. I don't like flat places with just water to see around me. I am bringing a toddler...PLEASE HELP...I just want rest with the chance to go out fro a fun daily activity. I don't want the island to be tooo boring, but not to loud and crowded at the same time.

"I would like to spend less than $33/day in housing."
Not going to find anything for this price in Grand Cayman. A real challenge on the other islands you are considering as well. I have read about some places in the neighborhood of $50 US in Grenada, but never stayed in a place like that.

This describes Grand Cayman and Aruba to a 'T'. You will not see other islands from Grenada either, but certainly not flat. The Virgin Islands (US & British) & the Grenadines offer the best views of other islands, but meeting your lodging budget may be difficult.
You may want to add Puerto Rico to your list since it may have lodging within your budget and meet some of your other criteria.

Your biggest problem is your budget of $33/day for lodging, I'm sorry to say that's pretty unrealitic for the Caribbean. If you do find that in any of the places you tagged please let us know. We just returned from Aruba and believe me, it's not cheap. We never saw other islands from Aruba but maybe we weren't looking in the right place.
Good luck, I hope you will find a vacation to suit your needs.

sklyles posted this same question last week. She is looking for a apartment rental and has a budget based on $1,000/mo rental (hence the $33/day figure). The trouble is that amount of rent in the Caribbean usually applies to "long term rentals" (1 or 2 years) on very basic apartments not necessarily in the best of areas and often not furnished or inclusive of utilities. She obviously didn't like the earlier responses. Three month rentals for furnished apartments on most islands are very difficult to find in that price range. You are talking more like $1,000/week.
Anyway, her best bet it to contact a couple of real estate rental agents on the islands that interest her. they may be able to find something that fits her budget. Do a google search using topics such as "Real Estate Rentals + NAME OF ISLAND". That will get her started.

You may be able to find something close to your price range in Grenada .. take a look at the official tourist board's website under 'guest houses, inns, etc., to see what is on offer ... www.grenadagrenadines.com. The island also offers everything else that you are looking for.

I've been to Grenada twice and stayed at the Flamboyant. Nearby there were private small inns/residences that would definitely have been more economical. Grenada is beautiful, lush, tropical, hilly (and hence great vistas). We always felt safe - people were very friendly - used the public bus sometimes. There are economical restaurants from pubs, jazz bars, pizza, cafes. The beaches are beautiful. The main beach is the Grand Anse and if you stay near there you could walk/swim anywhere as resorts do not cordon-off (sp?)their area.
