Best beach + resort in Aruba?
 

Yet another question! Went to Aruba back in 1991 with the Navy, too long ago to remember. I do remember damn near breaking my neck "bodysurfing" at Eagle Beach (dislocated my shoulder!)... But anyways, what do you think is the best combination of beach & resort in Aruba?

Well, Eagle Beach is the best beach -- by a long shot. I'd say Cabanas for the resort...

Definitely Eagle Beach. Then I'd take the oceanfront suites of the Aruba Grand (for location and spaciousness) and decorate them like the rooms at the Radisson. I'd add the Hyatt's pool and grounds, the Aruba Grand's swimming pool (for swimmers), the Radisson's comfy beach chairs, and last but not least, the ambiance, service, and eco-consciousness of Bucuti. Not sure who has the best gym/spa. Too bad all these elements aren't all in one place!

Best beach is in front of Bucuti, Manchebo, Costa Linda.

Best hotels are Radisson and Hyatt.

You need to choose between a small but very good hotel with a great beach (Bucuti) or a bigger, first-class hotel with a very good beach (Rad. or Hyatt).

For those on a budget, I think Manchebo is the best value.

I've seen your other posts. If I read it right, in a nutshell:

1: you're in your early 40s and don't want the crazy night life

2: don't want to put up with other people's kids

3: you like to gamble and activities off the resort a big plus.

4: best combination of beach and resort.

Well, I would suggest looking into Bucuti on Eagle Beach. Small, charming, quiet resort on the best stretch of beach. They cater to couples; no casino, activities or watersports directly on the property (though they are nearby). Because of the peaceful atmosphere the hotel strives for (and delivers), you'll find few if any children there. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. However, they are essentially on the busline to get to other places and taxi's are plentiful.

Manchebo nextdoor is also a possibility, but for a few extra dollars, I would look into Bucuti. By end of January, their new Tara Suite building will almost be completed, so it should be a quiet spot for R & R

I'm in the minority here - I prefer Palm Beach to Eagle Beach. Just a personal preference. The Marriott Ocean Club is great - it's an all-suites resort. The Marriott is at the end of the strip so to me you get the best of both worlds - action if you want it by walking to the left and quiet and nice beach walking if you want it by walking to the right (facing the water).
