Best beach in Barbados?

I will only stay there for 5 days, so i'd prefer my hotel to be on the best beach? some water sports would be nice, but i'd just prefer relaxation, white sand and crystal clear waters. Any info is appreciated!

thanks

Accra Beach is by far the most popular in Barbados. It is also the most crowded, though it never feels that way.
All the beaches in Barbados have golden white sand and crystal clear water and you can't go wrong with any of them. They are all so pristine, although some are more secluded than others.

The ocean water in Barbados is very clean everywhere. The two main hotel stretches are on the southwest coast south of Bridgetown where there will be light surf, and the west coast north of Bridgetown where the water will be pretty calm for more visibility and snorkeling.
The water will look clearer on the west coast.

If you stay in the Accra Beach area stay at Accra Beach Resort - it's lovely.

On the West Coast you get the calmer waters. Treasure Beach Hotel is great. Also check out Coral Reef Hotel and the Sandpiper - both on the beach with watersports available.

Southern Palms is also located on a fabulous beach on the south coast and is located in "The Gap", so within easy walking distance of restaurants and nightlife. Good swimming with watersport opportunities and beach volleyball.

I second Southern Palms. Dover Beach is superb; but I like to body surf and enjoy the waves. The west coast water is more calm. I think best beach is too subjective. My idea of the best beach might not be yours.

I was in Barbados on Christmas Day this year on a cruise. We have been going to the Boatyard for the past 7 years. It's close to the town and most crew from the ships head there. On the way back to the ship our cab driver told us that the hotels are on the Atlantic side and the waters are green, the Caribbean side is blue. I have never seen water so blue before in my life. I think the beaches in Barbados rate #1 over Magens Bay in St Thomas. The driver said there is a spot on the island where you can see the 2 seas come together and its cool to see.

Carlisle bay is calm and has the most beautiful crystal clear aqua water. Try grand barbados beach club. Accra beach has small waves but is still beautiful. Either of those are great, and are not far away so you can easily stay at one and visit another.

while the beach is isolated and desserted with no resorts on it, the most beautiful and photographed is Bottom Bay. You'll have to rent a car to explore that side of the island. You can have lunch at Crane Beach Resort, it's very cool how it's up high on cliffs looking down on the beach. On the same day check out Bottom Bay. There are limestone cliffs with a small field of palm trees, and a natural looking gorgeous beach. It's featured in most of the promotional commercials for Barbados, and for a reason.

I am surprised that this will be only the second recommendation for Crane Beach! It is only the 10 most beautiful beaches list.
Not calm enough for swimming but the surf is awesome for boogie/body boarding as well as playing in. The beach has pink sand like baby powder. The cliffs are a sight and you can jump off into the ocean.
