Best airfare
 

I remember reading somewhere that the airlines update their systems once a week around 2:00 a.m. I can't remember if it's Monday into Tuesday, or Tuesday into Wednesday. Anybody have any info on this or am I making this all up!!

I believe that it is Wed at 2 am. I am not positive, but I recall hearing that. So, You Go Girl and book a ticket this wednesday morning!!! I hope I am right. Any one else????

Well, I saw a significant price change in at least some tickets on Tuesday morning of this week (they dropped from what I saw on Monday afternoon.)

Check airfares daily to keep track of the ups and downs. I was checking fare one day, didn't lock in and the next it went up almost $200. Lucky for me when the gas prices dropped ever so slightly so did the fare I was looking for. Not quite the lower price but a whole lot better than the second one. Checked with my travel agent who advised me to jump on it as he couldn't find anything better for the times I requested. Finally booked my airfare to St.Vincent on Expedia today.

I've also read about the Tues. or Wed. morning thing but I was recently tracking fares to Jamaica and they dropped on a Friday morning (or overnight Thurs. night). Stayed down for about five days, then went back up.

This happened during the last few days of Aug. for my dates in Jan. - I didn't expect to see really good fares until after Labor Day. Lots of variables and hard to predict.
