Best AI in Antigua for honeymoon?
 

Looking for good to great food with choices. Fabulous pool(s), clean rooms on or near beach. Swimmable beach.<BR>thanks...

Hi Stan:<BR><BR>I don't know what your budget is but here are 3 reasonably priced AIs that get great marks from honeymooners:<BR><BR>Coco Bay<BR>Blue Waters<BR>Galley Bay (may not have pool).<BR><BR>These are not in the very top end (like Jumby Bay and Curtain Bluff) but are better than Sandals.

Have you stayed there?<BR><BR>I am looking at Galley Bay, Allegro Pinneapple, Jolly Beach & St. James(I think this one is out of my price range?)<BR><BR>Leaning towards Galley Bay. Anyone have trip reports, pictures or have stayed there and can share info, it would be appreciated. <BR>Also, what is the best place online to look at booking, rates, etc?

It's actually after the Neil Young song, "After The Gold Rush". <BR><BR>Jolly Beach is too budget for a honeymoon (although the beach is gorgeous). Galley Bay is a quiet place, no kids and I have only heard good things about it. I didn't stay there but I stayed next door at Hawksbill beach resort and got to "drop in" from time to time for the odd drink. I don't know much about St. James Club or the Allegro.

Girl,<BR>when you say budget, do you mean cheap or dirty, or all of the above?<BR>I really like the looks of the JB, but I am afraid the food might be lacking? Seems to have the best pool and beach, but do I sacrifice the rest?

When I say budget, I mean that the rooms are small and plain. But there's no disputing that the beach is gorgeous. If the food is lacking (and I don't know) you can walk next door to Coco's Restaurant for a great dinner.

We stayed at Sandals and it was wonderful. When we toured around the island we stopped at Allegro Pineapple Beach and we were not impressed. For your honeymoon you may want to consider Galley Bay, Sandals or Curtain Bluff. Blue Waters is a very nice resort with a friendly staff but it does have families.

I just returned from my weddingmoon last Thursday, Oct.10. We stayed at Sandals Antigua and it was the best time of our lives! The resort was beautiful, the entertainment was nice - good atmosphere, the staff was great help although not overly friendly, the food was nothing spectacular but was good, and the watersports were a lot of fun. I would recommed Sandals Antigua to anyone, especially honeymooners. It is so laid back and has a romantic feel. It was truly a relaxing and carefree vacation. You won't regret booking Sandals, it was great! Email me if you have any more questions.

I also recently returned from a honeymoon at Sandals Antigua, and found it a very positive experience. Some other resorts may be more "upscale" but Sandals offers you so much that it's hard not to have a great time. Plenty of fun and activities if you want them, and plenty of places to grab a little quiet time alone too. They really cater to honeymooners too.<BR><BR>I've heard some of the other resorts can be a little TOO quiet, but to each his (or her) own!
