Bermuda vs. Barbados in April?
I'm planning to take a 3-4 night island trip with my husband in April to celebrate my 40th birthday. I've never been to Bermuda or any Caribbean island, but narrowed my options down to Bermuda and Barbados because of flight time/cost from DC area (St. John looks great too, but seems to lack any affordable hotel options).
Here's my ideal trip: one day relaxing on beach, one day touring other landmarks/natural wonders, one day on boat or other tour. Beachfront hotel with pool under $300 per night. Easy access to restaurants. So which would you recommend--Bermuda or Barbados? Which hotel? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Peyto |
Bermuda will likely be too chilly in April for good beaching. Barbados is a wonderful island. See www.barbados.org
On the island, check out Bougainvillea--apartment style hotel on nice beach, excellent reviews. www.bougainvillearesort.com |
I would choose Barbados. My husband and I spent a very chilly 25th anniversary in Bermuda, and this was at the end of May a few years ago!

I agree with the rest. Our anniversary is early may and we love bermuda, but never want to chance it.

I also concur. An April trip to Barbados means warmer tempertures and sunny skies. Not to mention awe-inspiring drives around the island!

Bermuda is too cold. Water does not warm up there until July.
Barbados is ideal then. It's only 13 degrees north of the Equator, so it's pretty much the same year round. |
Thanks for the good advice!
