Bermuda Restaurant Updates
Just a quick update for fans of a few Bermuda restaurants - drove by Lobster Pot last night; they've just completed a major renovatioon and WOW - it is gorgeous from the outside. They opened up the wall and put in lots of glass - no word on any menu changes, but I'll keep my ears open. And my best friend ate at the Lighthouse at Gibb's Hill this past weekend and couldn't say enough about the fresh new look and the fabulous dinner menu. Evidently the mussels are to die for. Her husband also gave the fish chowder there a 'thumbs up', and he's born and raised Bermudian!
Hope that is welcome news for our visitors! |
Thank you, txgirlinbda!

Thanks for the update ! I love the food at the Lobster Pot but not the atmosphere ! Couldn't sit outside beacuse of the car fumes and inside was dingy ! This is the first year that we missed going to Bermuda and I am really upset !! Planning on next summer and planning on those fried plantains at Lobster Pot !! Oh, How's downtown Hamilton coming along ? Port Royal Golf Course finished yet ? Thanks for the update !

Here's the latest -
Lobster Pot re-opens this Sat (Aug 15th) after their renovations. They will be open for supper only on the weekends, but M-F they open at 11:30 and serve all afternoon. Those of you familiar with Bermuda know how hard it is to find a mid-afternoon meal!! The Lighthouse Tea Room is now known as The Dining Room - run by the Primavera/Rustico's group - www.primaverarestaurant.com, lunch 11:45 - 2:30, dinner hours and breakfast on the weekends. OK, I'm hungry now! |
Oh, Jerseysue, the major constructon is winding down on those two big buildings on Front Street -the painting and windows are starting. The two-story pink Customs house/cruise ship arrivals bldg and covered parking is gone - there's an open-air parking lot, public bathrooms there now. There's also a separate dedicated ferry dock for cruise ship passengers from St. George's and Dockyard (King's Wharf). I believe Port Royal is finished and just getting the decorative touches for the upcoming PGA event.
