Good point. We went in March and had perfect weather. We went to Bermuda in June and froze our bottoms off. The water was 68 F and outside temps cool, windy, and rainy. It still a nice place and something that you would enjoy. Maybe save Jamaica for a future trip. The Fairmonts are nice or look at VRBO or vacationrentals.com and you might find a condo cheaper.
Again, we stayed at the Reefs which was very nice but very expensive. |
I can not help on Bramuda, but I have been to Negril and I have to say I think it was maybe my best trip. I stayed at the Sweptaway because Sandals had overbooked.
The resort is now www.couples.com The food was fantastic and the beach unbelievable. Being as it was an all inclusive we only left to go see the sunset at Rick's which is a must. We went with another couple and we had a 2 story bungalow to ourselves. I would go back in a minute. I had an e-mail not long ago from Sandals and they have some pretty good deals. But remember August is Hurricane season. Best of luck and keep us all informed of your trip Have a wonderful and safe trip Jaye |
Thanks again to everyone for your thoughtful responses. I keep going back & forth with my thoughts. I would love to do the Jamaica trip, but maybe August is not the best for something like that (and probably the reason it is a lot cheaper too).
Here's another idea to throw out there...we can also do FF miles to Puerto Rico or Bahamas. We still only have the 4 nights to work with & August is pretty much it. Our anniversary is in November, but we are teachers & that is our only time off other than Thanksgiving & Christmas. |
It is a shame that you have to look at August. I know what dedication goes with being a teacher, My best friend is one. If it was me I would be Ill and leave Sat before Thanksgiving and come back Fri or Sat after. But then again I am not a teacher.
Let us know when you decide Jaye ps please do not grade me on my spelling |
I would also like you to visit my blog sometime if you have a chance.
I just started and would love to have some feed back thx Jaye http://tidbits4trips.wordpress.com/ |
If you want to go to the Bahamas I would go for one of the out islands.
Like Cat Island.I've never been but it sounds like a place you might enjoy. The Fernandez Bay Village gets alot of great reviews on Trip Advisor. I have been to the Bahamas(Nassau)and Negril(Jamaica).Though both were nice for a short jaunt I have no interest in going back to either. My only experience in Puerto Rico is flying in and flying out to Vieques Island off of PR. I've never been to Bermuda. |
