Bermuda Hotels-Which one?

Planning a 5 day trip to Bermuda around July 4th and not sure where to stay. I was to Bermuda about 8 years ago and we stayed at the Southampton Princess (before Fairmont bought it out) and it was great! We did a meal plan and ate in all the restaurants on site. It had easy access to the bus stop to travel the island, right next to beautiful Horseshoe Bay, and the hotel offered free boat shuttle to downtown Hamilton. But wondering if we should try another hotel for something different...
Any suggestions? I know there was a recent post on Bermuda hotels, but still can decide... Thanks!

There are some wonderful places to stay in Bermuda. Have you looked at www.bermudatourism.com? It shows you the full range of options. I like Pink Beach, Cambridge Beaches, the Reefs, Fourways and Elbow Beach. A lot of folks who post here particularly like Pompano Beach. I have eaten there and the food was quite good.
Take the ferry while you are there. It is such fun.

Thanks cmcfong. I'm getting a little sticker shock from the price of airfares to Bermuda! The lowest I'm coming up with is $700 per person from NYC/NJ!!! That can't be right!?!! That will cost me more than the hotel just to fly there. It's only a 2 hour flight... Must be supply and demand pushing the fare up so high? hmmmmm.....

Sorry, Gail. I didn't see this posting until after I responded to the other one. You might check to see if you can get a deal on hotel and air through one of the carriers. I know AA,USAIR, Continental and Delta all serve BDA from NYC. The top price I have paid in the last ten years (I fly out of CLT or GSO) was under $500.

The Reefs and Pompano are tops for favourite resorts. We are huge fans of Pompano. Their waterfront is gorgeous, it is a very romantic spot. No complaints at all - it is a very casual and friendly resort with excellent staff. What we really like is the staff are constantly running a shuttle back and forth to the nearest ferry stop (which is only a 5-10 minute walk away) - nice if you're not renting scooters. The bus stop is at the entrance to the resort. And then there's the tent-cottages if you're adventurous - 9beaches.com - we were there years ago when it was called Daniel's - the cottages are surprisingly comfortable - we really enjoyed our stay there.
