Bermuda Hotels
I know this has been covered several times, but hoping you all can offer some opinions; my husband and I are looking at a getaway in June to Bermuda and I'm looking at the Reefs and just found Pink Sand Club. My husband would probably play golf a couple of times; good food is a must, and we would also enjoy going into town to browse around; we would like a nice comfortable room with a great beach on which to relax. Also, like many recent posters, we'd like the place with the least amount of children--we are going earlier in June when alot of schools (I think) will not be out yet, but would still not want a family-oriented place for this trip.
I should add that this is our first trip to Bermuda. Many thanks, Mary |
sorry, Pink Beach. . .it's all pink sand, right?
thanks again, Mary |
There will possibly be children at either of those resorts. The Reefs and Pink Beach are very good quality, luxury properties which do not generally attract a lot of children. In the same league with them is Cambridge Beaches. New this summer will be Lantana which is a destination spa with a gorgeous golf course and easy access to the ferry for going into town. I am not sure what the opening date is for Lantana, but if I had to guess I would say it and Cambridge Beaches are the best choices for a "child free" vacation in Bermuda. Do enjoy your trip. Bermuda is another world and May is a lovely time to visit.

thank you!

Southhampton Princess is my pick. Get the meal plan. There are at least 4 five star resturants inside. also if you like to golf there is a beautiful 9 hole course there. The only negetive is it is on the opposite side from the towm.

I think we are going with Reefs, unless someone on the board has a different direction.
thanks! Mary |
You will love it, Mary. It is very nice and the views are spectacular.

thanks again cmcfong; would you recommend taking advantage of their Dine Around program and, if so, which restaurants.

Mary, the dining at the Reefs is very nice. The food is excellent, the service tops, and they will do a special dinner on the beach if you request it. That said, I love to eat at a number of restaurants in Bermuda. Do not be put off by the fact that many of these are hotel restaurants, they are quite good. Here are a few of my favorites:
Fourways Inn (Middle Road) Aqua at Ariel Sands (North Shore Road) Waterloo House (Hamilton) Ascots at the Royal Palms (Hamilton) Cambridge Beaches (near Somerset) La Coquille at the Underwater Exploration Museum (Hamilton). A word of caution, Bermuda taxis are quite expensive. If you are staying at the Reefs you will either have to take a cab or a bus to any of the restaurants listed above. I do not recommend taking a moped anywhere at night or while you are drinking. It is just too dangerous. Bermuda is very relaxing and picturesque. Take a ferry ride one day, it is a fun way to see the islands. And do rent a moped to ride during the day. You can find private little beaches to snorkle and sun a bit, even in June. The weather in June should be lovely. Have a wonderful trip. |
thank you for your thoughtful reply--am very excited for our visit

Good choice on the Reefs!! You will love it!

I think the Reefs is fully booked for June - I have been trying to make a reservation for the last month to no avail. It seems booked for the majority of the summer!

I wasn't able to make a reservation on line for June, but when I called she had several options so give it a shot.
