Bermuda hotel help

We're looking at going to Bermuda in early June. My first choice was The Reefs, but they are quite thoroughly booked up. So can you help? My priorities: nice room with ocean view, very close to beach. Nice beach is the biggest thing. I prefer smaller, quiet hotels. Preferably not too family oriented. Don't mind kids, but don't want to be overrun. Also, good food would be important.

Cambridge Beaches looks great, but its awfully expensive. Same for Elbow beach. Maybe Pink Beach club?

9 Beaches looks interesting, but does anybody know...do those cabana rooms actually have electrical outlets in the room? I know, that sounds like a silly question, but its important.

any insights? best beach and best food on the island?

thanks!

Pompano Beach Resort might be a good fit for you. Take a look at tpatricco's trip report from 9 Beaches.

yes, Pompano might be the best bet, and they do have availability.

how is the beach? does it feel fairly spacious and uncrowded? are there generally a lot of kids?

The beach is lovely. Early June there should not be lots of kids. Check out the reviews on TA. I think you will be impressed. Lovely property and the newly refurbished ocean view rooms are terrific.

I am staying at Pompano Beach Club in June. I have heard read and heard great things about this resort.

thanks for the help. I've booked Pompano this morning. We'll be there in June also, and I can hardly wait!!

Hi ChinaCat--we stayed at the Reefs and did not get a great room and could not be moved and honestly, it was just okay; but I wanted to encourage you to do the dine-around and eat at the Reefs--the restaurants are lovely and the food is great. The dine-around is sort of a complicated formula that involves even swaps among the participating hotels, but your front desk will explain it and you need to be flexible. It seems like everyone wants to go to Cambridge Beaches--we never did get it, but we went to Pompano instead.

Enjoy,

Mary

thanks mary. we almost certainly will try the dine around at least once. I'll remember to be flexible.

one thing that appealed to me about Pompano is that I could get the very best rooms for the same price as a deluxe room at the Reefs. It looked to me like there were good and not so good amongst the deluxe rooms. So I feel more assured that I will get a good spot at Pompano.

we are really looking forward to the trip now...wish it was sooner!
