bermuda at Christmas

Planning a last minute trip to Bermuda over Christmas. I am concerned that a lot of sites, restaurants, ferry service etc wil be closed not only on Christmas, but Boxing Day. We are only going for 4 days and this will include 2 of those. Any insight on this would be most helpful. My husband and I are going for relaxation, to tour the island and don;t mind that it is not the warmest time of year. We like going off season as well.

Special opening for a top tier Bermuda restaurant during your stay

I checked several websites including bermudatourism.com, tripadvisor.com, and the two newspapers (Bermuda Sun and The Royal Gazette) hoping to find a definitive answer to your question, but could not. I am going to suggest that at least the major hotels will have restaurants open during your stay. You may want to contact the Little Venice group(mentioned above) directly. Between the hotels and Little Venice group you should have lots of good options.
What a wonderful place to spend Christmas. I love Bermuda!!!

I have been doing some research as we too will be in Berumda for Christmas. Most restaurants that I contacted, except those at major hotels, are closed on Dec. 25, but very few are also closed on Dec. 26. All the attractions and sites appear to be closed on Dec. 25, but all appear to be back in operation starting on Dec. 26, e.g. the Aquarium, the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUE), Maritime Museum, and Dolphin Quest. I also confirmed today that a glass bottom cruise is also operating on Dec. 26 & the rest of the week, weather permitting, at 1:30 pm from Ferry Terminal on Front Street in Hamilton. The Bermuda Perfumery is closed on Monday but open on Tuesday.

The events that form part of the Bermuda Rendezvous Activities, however, will not be available from Dec. 25 to Dec. 28, inclusively.

The buses appear to be operating, but at a reduced schedule. The schedule on-line shows times for Sunday & Holidays. http://www.gov.bm/portal/server.pt The Winter ferry schedule also shows different schedules for Sundays and Public Holidays. I hope this helps. Have a wonderfut time!

Oh I would love to be in Bermuda for Christmas -- not only to be in my favorite place on earth, but also to escape this Christmas madness!!!

Bus and ferry service operate on the Sunday schedule for holidays. The island on a whole will be pretty quiet, but it is a great time to be there. take a bottle of champagne to Elbow Beach and hang out with all the expats who turn out to celebrate with their home-away-from-home friends.

Thanks for the tips. It does seem if most places close on Christmas Day and open on Boxing Day. I am sure we will find plenty to do! Merry Christmas!
