Been to Swept Away Recently?

My fiance and I are going to Swept Away to get married and spend our honeymoon in April 2003. As I was reading some comments from earlier messages I am concerned about construction on the property, the fitness center being dated, and the main dining room being closed. If you have been recently I would really like to know what to expect. As I was researching places to go, this seemed like a very good one. Hope I'm not wrong. Thanks for your help!

Hello, I just returned from Swept Away and found it to be absolutely wonderful in every way. There was no construction going on, the fitness center was great with every type of modern equipment imaginable, and the dining room was only closed on Friday night when there was Jamaica night with a buffet set up on the beach. It is a perfect place to get married and have a honeymoon (we saw several weddings while we were there.) Feathers, the dressy and elegant restaurant, offered superb service and food. Reservations are a must for Feathers. The rooms are secluded with lovely verandas. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Dancer, we are going in Sept. to renew our wedding vows. What type of room did you have? Thanks for your help

Hi tpon, we had a beachfront room with the ocean right out front and if you have reserved one of those, try and get one of the ones with the large veranda. But from what I saw, all the rooms were very nice and private with lots of tropical foliage. Some of the rooms had hammocks on the verandas which I thought was a nice touch. All the rooms are just a few steps from the beach, dining room, sports complex, and outdoor bars. Hope you enjoy!

you will love the place.

I worked out every day at the fitness area. The workout area is outdoors which is unique. It's hot - but I worked out early in the morning and it wasn't too bad. Equipment is fine. It's not state of the art - but fine for a good workout. There is also a 7 lane lap pool just outside of the gym. There's a nice aerobics studio, racquetball and a great tennis complex with hard court and clay court. The main fitness guy, Donovan, trains Lennox Lewis. It would be worthwhile to get a training session from him.

They will be expanding Swept Away but did not notice any construction bothering anything.

Dining room is great...don't have any idea why it would be closed.

We got married there - they did a great job - pictures were very nice and overall very well done.

Make sure you make reservations at Feathers - the gourmet restaurant. We had our wedding meal there and ate there one other time - excellent!

We have traveled all over the world..and really enjoyed Swept Away - hard not to have a good time.
