I'm not sure how I missed this when searching the forum for answers to my questions b4 I posted, but wow, this is a fantastic & informative report. Thanks for not snottily telling me to search before asking my questions!

Hello BeachGirl247,
I'm going to catch that Cat Isalnd Air plane, I read your post and now I'm very very worried...please could you "refrase" what does means: "Do Not Take Cat Island Air!!!"
Do you think it is dangerous or just boring or something...

I was referring to the fact they changed which airport I was flying into without telling me. We landed and were expecting the plane to take off for the next airport and it was the end of the line. They didn't tell us before we left that they thought we would want to go to that airport instead - without consulting with us. We had to hitch a ride to get to a phone to call the man I was renting our car from.
They did this on the return as well. We showed up at the correct airport. They put us on the other flight at the other end of the island which was leaving very soon. It was a nightmare! They were very unapologetic and unprofessional.
We've flown throughout the Caribbean a lot and understand "island time" and all of that. This was unacceptable.
** Double check everything up to the point of departure with them!

Beachgirl - loved your report and thanks for all the detailed directions to the various beaches. We've been to many of the out islands including LI and can't wait to hit Cat island. The only problem seem to be the flights but will take another look. Do you by any chance know the name of the house on Fernandez bay? Thanks again.

@mnag, I googled vacation rentals on Fernandez Bay and a few came up but I don't recall which one we saw. However, I recall only a handful of homes so I'm sure it's one of them.
Bennett's Harbor is another beautiful beach area as well as Pigeon Cay beach, too. Bennett's Harbor rentals would be around the corner from Sammy T's. And, Fernandez Bay rentals are a walk on the beach to the Fernandez Bay Resort.
