I know you've made up your mind already, but I wanted to put in a plug for the Somerset. I stayed there for a week in February 2007, and it was FABULOUS. Service and amenities were top notch. A friend owns a condo in one of the garden view units, and we were thoroughly comfortable.

I've heard great things about somerset as well. Unfortunately, with peak rates, I could only do a garden view. One of the biggest parts of a beach vaction is being able to sit on the terrace and look out to the ocean. With 2 young kids, naps, early bedtime, this is a critical factor for me. So, OCW had a beachfront huge suite for a great price, I can't complain. I plan on going back in the fall and I am dying to try the Palms...Great rates in off season..can't wait to just get down there 12 days and counting!!!!

I'm reading this post and wondering how your trip went. I apologize in advance if you've posted a trip report elsewhere. I too am now debating b/w the Alexandra, the Sands and OCW for this July. We also have two young kids, ages 3 and 1. I'm wondering how they enjoyed OCW.... Thanks. |
