Beaches, snorkelling & jerk chicken!

Hi

I am going to St Kitts on Sept 18th and will be staying at the Marriot resort. I want to sunbathe, snorkel in clear water and eat jerk chicken, where are the best places to go? (I have hired a car for the time I am there so transport is no problem)

I didn't know you could get jerk chicken outside of Jamaica. Thats a reason to go to St.Kitts for me. :-)

Hey you can get jerk chicken right in my back garden hot off of my grill, but sadly there is no beach close and the snorkeling sucks.

Thank goodness for importation of Walkerwood's Jerk Sauce, PickaPeppa Sauce, and Busha Browne's. Ah I do love to jerk that chicken (and sometimes I even jerk the odd pork chop!).....

Sorry I don't have any answers for you, but let me know if you get any info! I'll be down there on my honeymoon on the 20th of Sept. If I find out anything, i'll reply again.

After reading Corts reply my mouth is watering for that lusty dish. And we have a Jamaican restaurant close by! :S-

We were in St. Kitts in July and had a good time snorkeling, although we are rookies. The Marriott has a great pool area and beach area with huts. They rake the seaweed in the morning, so the beach is clean. There is a beach swimming area with a bit of snorkelling but since the hotel is on the Atlantic side of the Caribbean Sea, the water can be rougher.

The island is shaped like a chicken drumstick (jerk or no) with the Marriott on the skinniest part. We had great snorkelling across the strip at Frigate Bay and further southeast around Major's Bay. The locals are great for giving advice on what to do and what to see. Have a great trip!
