Dominica is not really known for its beaches. It is a lush rain forest type of island. We did an island tour when our cruise went there.

The beaches have black sand from volcanic ash. The rainforest is beautiful and lush.

There are several Black Sand Beaches here in Dominica. You'll find that most of the Sand Beaches are located between the West Central to West North West of the island. Also you should try a hike through the lovely rain forest, boat ride up the Indian River, visit to the Waitukubuli National Trail, several of our Sulphur Springs where you can have a soothing sulphuric bath, and lots more.

Come to the Nature Isle of the Caribbean where one can Defy the Everyday.

As schmer said Dominica is hardly known for its beaches. Whilst you will find some nice beaches like Calibishie in the north, you will probably want to try Wavine Cyrique beach is probably paradise on earth.

It offers a beautiful beach and an impressive waterfall together.
