BARCELO BAVARO PALACE
 

We are leaving next week for BARCELO BAVARO PALACE in Punta Cana. Has anyone been here?

We have not been recently but it is a great place. The way the resort is set up with its sister resorts, you have one big long beautiful beach!! Plenty of chairs and plenty of activity, if that is what you want - if not, you can certainly find a quiet spot. The restaurants are all available to you - seeing you are at the Prncess,that is not the case if you are at one of the other resorts. The food was very good. There is a train that shuttles around the resort, so if you don't want to walk back after dinner, you can take a leisurely ride. Yes, you could probably walk faster, but....

The casino is like all caribbean resort casinos....small and meant for entertainment - no big winners to be seen.

Would you say it's a good place for a group of girls to stay? We are late 20s and are looking for a resort where we could socialize with people our age.

I see you mention casino, that is the first. I figured there were none Punta Cana. Can you tell me more, we are staying at Bavaro Villas.

Quite a few of the larger resorts have samll casinos on site. I know when we were at Barcelo Bavaro beach that was the case. Last year we stayed at a smaller resort that did not have one, but they had a nightly shuttle to a nearby resort's casino. I cannot recall the resort's name, since the casino was not a huge draw for us. Again, they are quite small - good for wasting an hour or so.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace gets many bad reviews but we have been to those properities numerous times and loved them...The people are very friendly...DA0703 you should probably stay at the Beach or Caribe part...The Beach is more the party spot and they have fun night shows and a Disco that closes around 4am...Ready to retire the Villas are not part of these resorts....I think they are next to the Palace but are separate from the other five...You may get to use the Casino I don't know...enjoy everyone!
