Barcelo bavaro beach....recent comments?
 

Does anyone have an recent comments and/or feedback on the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort.....we are booked for March! Thanks in advance for your help!!

Thanks, I checked Debbie's website, but other than one review in January there is nothing more recentthan November. Has anybody recently returned that would like to offer some feedback? I am not concerned about my trip, but various opinions are often helpful......

My family and I went to the Palace in April 2001. We loved it,we are going back in 2003 with some friends. You can't be the price. Plus the staff is very nice and the food is great for caribbean. Make sure you do lobster and shrimp right on the beach at las brisas,we went there alot and other outside grill at the other end of beach is good too. The beach is beautiful and long. Have fun!

My parents and I went to the Barcelo Palace and ended up staying at the beach of the Barcelo beach hotel because it was so amazing, calm water, perfect beach, great on-the-beach restaurant. I wish I was going back! It was great.

Thanks for the info - we have 40 days to go - I cannot wait!! Any specific side trips anyone would recommend??

WE STAYED AT THE PALACE IN APRIL 2001 - HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES! DEFINITELY DO THE 4-WHEELER EXCURSION - THEY LET YOU RIDE THEM IN THE WATER ON THE BEACH, SEE A NEAT LITTLE FISHING VILLAGE, AND EVEN STOP AT A BAR FOR SOME PRESIDENTE BEER! ASK FOR FRANCIS FOR YOUR GUIDE! DON'T DO ANY OF THE SNORKELING TRIPS - THE SNORKELING IS REALLY NO GOOD, AND THE WATER IS ROUGH! ALSO, A FEW BUCKS GETS YOU A LONG WAY IN THIS RESORT. LEAVE A BUCK OR TWO ON YOUR MINI-BAR AND IT WILL BE OVERFLOWING WITH BEER, WATER, AND M&M'S! HAVE FUN, I WISH I WAS GOING BACK!
