Barbuda _ Best inexpensive places to stay for a family
I've looked and found some great places to stay on the island (if my last name was Rockefeller). Does anyone know of any 'hidden gems' they would care to share ? Additional info is welcomed.

No 'hidden gems'; a few small houses for rent and fairly basic guesthouses only fit the inexpensive places to stay category. Everything elseas you've noticed is luxe, the price one must pay these days for privacy, the greatest luxury. The interior's scrufty/the beaches are some of the best on the planet. Sell your firstborn and go ;)...

Any info you have on the small cottages, etc. is welcomed...sorry but my firstborn is coming & I doubt that anyone could afford her...Besides, she is the best traveler of the bunch....lol

Still looking...

Think you're going to have a tough time with this one. The only resorts are Ku, Pigeon Point and The Beach House where we stayed. There is only one "town" Codrington and the population of Barbuda is about 1600 people so you're not going to find a lot of guest houses and certainly not on the beach.
|
Would really prefer a guesthouse or self-serve cottage...not really into the 'resort' vibe. I know many rentals on these types of islands you have to know someone or have an 'inside track'. I am looking for one of those well-kept secrets (if it exists).

Conde Nast Traveler Magazine just had a piece on the "almost undiscovered" islands in the Caribbean. Barbuda was one of them. They mentioned Palm Tree
Guest House,$80-120 night. barbudaful.com I'd love to hear about this island once you return.... |
That link isn't to a the Palm Tree Guest house.

I did see that (I subscribe also) thanks for the reminder though.

Have you checked out North Beach? It only has 2 cottages. I just noticed a recent Trip Advisor review on it (the only one) but the person posted some pics. Frankly, my kind of paradise. ;)

Thx, I'll take a look.
