Barbados- weather in Aug? good hotels?

Hello,
We're going on our honeymoon to barbados from 8/18/-30th. From reading the posts it seems like there isn't a huge chance of a hurricane, but how is the overall weather? Is it cloudy all day and then maybe some light rain? or is it sunny most of the time?

Also, can anyone recommend a good resort/hotel (with mostly couples-not alot of kids). We have budgeted about $150 a night for 10-12 days for lodging. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

We are going this week. I found some GREAT deals at http:/11thHourVacations.com Look for the seven day rates -- We are paying less for 7 nights than we would have for 3 nights!! We did not want an inclusive package preferring, instead, to eat at restaurants in various parts of the island. Check out the hotel reviews in Fodor (of course) and at http://www.tripadvisor.com. Also Barbados is having "Best of Barbados" for people who stay for at least 7 days with room upgrades at some of the inclusive hotels, two for one activities, etc. You can find details at http://www.barbados.org.

The weather is great then -- we've been at that timeframe many times celebrating my husband's birthday. When they say cloudy, usually it means blue skies with lots of white puffy clouds -- very picturesque. You may get a brief shower sometime, but not steady rain.

I would check out the Barbados Tourism Board website where they list the "Best of Barbados" specials available through mid December. You get the first night free if you stay 7.

On the South Coast, Bougainvillea Beach is nice - we've stayed there before. Also, Coral Sands Resort is an all-suite resort on Sandy Beach -- they have a website that's great:

Crane Beach, while beautiful is very far away from everything. If you like trying out different restaurants at night, all of the great places are on the west coast and you'd be a 40 minute drive from there if you were at the Crane.

There is a gorgeous little "luxury" resort that I just learned of from a friend you might want to check out. It's north of Speightstown on the west coast -- it's called Little Good Harbor. Do a search for it on Yahoo and check it out. I can't remember the price, but it might be perfect for a honeymoon.
