Barbados - Romantic restaurant suggestions please

I'm going to be in Barbados for a few days next week for business and will be bringing my wife along. Can anyone suggest a nice, romantic restaurant either near Holetown or within a reasonable distance?

When I was there several years ago, we had a great meal at the BrownSugar restaurant just outside Bridgetown. Is that still a place worthy of a visit?

Thanks

The Cliff, while quite pricey, is very romantic. Other good possibilities: Carambola, Calabaza, and Tides.

The Cliff and Carambola are probably the most dramatic (cliffside, torches, etc.) While the Tides and Calabaza stand up to both in terms of food quality and attentive, pleasant service.

All are an easy commute from the Holetown area.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll definately consider them. Fortunately, I've got the budget that comes with working for a Swiss company that doesn't believe in maximizing shareholder value. They believe it is more important to keep up the appearance of a prosperous Switzerland.

I'll second the recommendation for The Cliff, which was quite possibly the most romantic setting for any meal I've ever eaten. The downside is that it was the most expensive meal I've ever eaten--over $300US for two people, including drinks and tip.

I ate at Brown Sugar two years ago and it was good then. Great atmosphere, good mix of locals and tourists. Take bug spray if you dine there at night, however, as it is open air but doesn't have the breezes to keep the mosquitos sufficiently at bay.

I can understand your situation. If you will be close to St Lawrence Gap area try Pisces. They are right on the water and the sunset is very nice. Also right down the street from Pisces is a myriad of good restaurants...enjoy..we love Barbados too! Greenie

Thanks for the suggestions. We ended up having dinner at L'Acajou at Sandy Lane. Overall, an exceptional dining experience.
