Barbados question: Harrison Cave
We are on a Princess Cruise that stops in Barbados in March. Harrison Cave is one of the sights we want to see on Barbados, along with other places such as Orchid World and Wildlife Preserve.
Princess does not include Harrison Cave in their on-shore excursions this year. Can anybody recommend a good tour operator? We found a website by City Discovery Barbados that covers some of our desired destinations, but don't know anything about them. |
No need to book a tour operator. All cab drivers on the island will know the destination. Once you arrive, Harrison Cave will handle the "tour" on their tram which is included in the cost of the ticket.
Freshly renovated and a must see! |
I'd definitely second the suggestion of just hiring a taxi driver to take you around. But you may wish to share the cost with at least 2 other people. Otherwise, this can be an expensive option. It's also easy to drive yourself if you want to rent a car.

Great point Doug! We actually shared a cab with another couple and split the cost.
As a top destination on the island, it shouldnt be hard to find another group to share. |
I've heard good things about Glory tours, they take you to a couple good spots for a prize that includes admission..I think about $90. Pretty good deal. I'll find more info on them and post it.
Here's my review of Harrisons cave (one of my fav spots to visit) http://www.barbados-travel-secrets.c...ctions-of.html and if you like the wildlife reserve, check out the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary as well: http://www.barbados-travel-secrets.c...ctions-in.html |
The reason Princess doesn't book a tour to Harrison's Cave is because it is not open on Tuesday, which is their day in port.

Very close to Harrison's Cave is Flower Forest, one of the most gorgeous garden/forest spots anywhere. A visitor once wrote in their guest book, "If I owned Flower Forest and Paradise, I'd rent out Paradise and live in Flower Forest."
