Barbados Beaches
Hi,
I've spent some time travelling around the island and have come up with this new video map of Barbados which you travellers can use. Take a look and let me know what you think :) www.beachesofbarbados.com Hope this helps Nick Welch |
Hi Nick,
Just visited your link and love it! Very appreciative for this. Great Job. Thanks a bunch. |
Wow, that's a wonderful presentation, thank you! Since it looks like you know the area well, can you suggest a nice villa/cottage on the beach for us? We have our young 3 year old son with us who loves to swim in the ocean and play in the sand.
Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated! |
Cookbound - when do you plan on being in Barbados. where you stay might depend on your budget. There are many lovely villa/cottage type accommodations right on the beaches on the West Coast, but they will be expensive certain times of the year. There are also location on the southcoast that would also work for you, but do to their popularity, may not be available for when you wish to be here.

Nice work, Nick. I got to see some of my favorite beaches. It was almost like being there!
Peace, Greenie |
Hi Cookbound,
I agree with Sunniebgi - it kind of depends on your budget. There are plenty of stunning villas on the west, but you pay for them. You really can't go wrong on the west for the sea - it's completely calm. I stay south of the island and its more affordable. I am working on the hotels and villas giving you maximum choice...so stay tuned :) kind regards Nick www.beachesofbarbados.com |
Nick & Sunniebgi,
Thanks for your responses. Actually, I think I'll post a separate post for specific help. I'm going in Nov.right before Thanksgiving for a week. I'd like to stay in the $2500-$3000/week range. I've just started researching, so not sure how that rates for there, if too cheap or good. Usually I've found during this time of year, I'm right before the high season and get decent. rates. At least you've given me a few regions to focus on. Any other suggestions would be great! Thanks! I'll go ahead and post my own post to not bog this one down. Thanks again! :) |
Novemeber is a fantastic time to go - one of my favourites. I reckon you could find a good deal for that kind of money as this is before the high season.
I stay in the south at Surfers Point - on the map. I'm filming all the time so its perfect. Its slightly more out of the way...but the west would be fantastic. I'm sure you'll find a place. Best Nick www.beachesofbarbados.com |
We are planning a last minute trip to one of the islands in the Caribbean, in mid-to-late August or early September. We have been to the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. However, we are afraid that we may encounter a lot of restaurants/hotels/places of interest/etc. closed because it is the low season. We are not sure which island to visit.
Would Barbados be a great island to visit this time of year? If not, do you have any suggestions on an island that has great diving, nature, great beaches, night life where we will find most places, if all, open? We are two parents with a 23 year old male traveling with us. Thanks!!! |
Cookbound.. if that is your accommodation budget for the week, you aren't going to have too much probably. if you are looking for a villa/cottage type location, I'm going to suggest that you look at what Bajan Services has to offer. They are a Villa management company, this will at least get you started on what is out there.
Fiddy - Barbados is farther out into the atlantic then the rest of the island chain, which means we don't get the hurricanes, but.. we aren't immune to bad weather during this time period. I still firmly believe over the island you are asking about, that Barbados is your best bet. We do have good (not great) diving (other islands are better for that just by their location). But we do have plenty of other things to offer. Check out www.visitbarbados.org (the Tourism Authority website) or www.barbados.org, which used to be the BTA website, and is full of very helpful information.) |
Sunniebgi,
Thank you for the Bajan Services contact, so that I understand, are you saying that my budget is too small, that I may have problems with that, I should plan on larger? Thanks! |
