BARBADOS ?? BAHAMAS?? maybe french caribbean?? experts S.O.S.

Hi everyone! I wonder if you could help me out here. I am planning a trip to Miami and the caribbean for 2010 (summer). I have been to Aruba and really loved it. Now I want to try Barbados or Bahamas but I am open to suggestions. What I look for:

Excelent accommodation: small hotels - Such as Buccuti in Aruba
I loooove to be outdoors, on the beach all day, but when I come back to the hotel I want a nice shower, cable TV, and a nice room.

Long and powder sand beaches (such as Eagle beach, Aruba) to take a walk, and of course the caribbean sea. For those who are thinking why don't I go to Aruba then, you are right...but I want to visit another place this time.

And finally, Direct flights from Miami. I would say this is a must. I know it is limiting, but I will be flying form South America and I my holydays are limited as well.

I would say cost is not a problem, because anyway I am travelling in low-seasson.
Many thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Direct from Miami, Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos would be my first choice---everything you're looking for, absolutely perfect beach.

If you like huge properties I'd go to www.Atlantis.com on Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas (again direct flight).

I'd rule out Barbados as it's a long flight from Miami.

We also started out in Aruba 20 yrs. ago and now have been to most of the islands---we did return to Aruba 1 more time.

We love Aruba also. I would suggest Grand Cayman. 7 Mile Beach is just beautiful.

i have to 2nd provo in turks & caicos. the beach is 11 miles of oh so soft blindingly white sand next to the most amazing tourquoise water. almost always calm due to reef.
american airlines has several nonstops daily. takes about 90 mins. for small resort take a look at: http://www.turksandcaicosclub.com/
or http://thesomerset.com/ for resort with more service. or beautiful upscale http://www.gracebayclub.com/ numerous other options.
lots of excellent dining options. good snorkel/dive/bonefishing. does not have much nightlife compared to aruba and no gambling.

i would only consider barbados if you can buy an (i think it's called) open jaw ticket where you could fly directly home from barbados.

in bahamas maybe cape santa maria beach resort, pink sands, small hope bay, one & only ocean club puts you near atlantis. i'm sure there are others and these are all resorts that i have never even seen but know ppl who have been and said good things about each.

I found Turks and Caicos beach to be much nicer than Barbados. The same beautiful colors are in the water at both places but the beach itself is significantly nicer in T and C. I found it easier to get around in T and C. Barbados seemed to be much more expensive and longer for cab rides.

Would you say the weather there in November will be fine?

We've been to Grand Cayman in a November and the weather was great. Hot enough to swim, but not so hot that we felt like we were burning up. If you decide on Grand Cayman book an excursion to swim with the sting rays. It's is so fun. There are also 2 snorkel stops. The best snorkeling I've ever seen.

We've been to T&C in a May and the weather was nice. It may be getting a tad cool in November for some. Barbados will be warm. Probably on the same level as Aruba.

November? Sorry, omit my "Atlantis" suggestion, can be cool in Nov.

Not sure about T&C weather in Nov. but Barbados (even though a long flight) would be warmer.

We love Aruba also but feel it is almost antiseptic. Beautiful beaches. Great to relax. But nothing there. Barbados has a little bit of everything and alot of culture and sights to see. Beaches are just above average. But by far is the most interesting Carribean island out there. And great cusine
