barbados and st.lucia questions~

My fiance and I are marrying in October and planning a honeymoon to the Carribean for November 15-29th of this year. These are our current plans... can you all please give feedback and suggestions before I book it? Anything would be helpful.
-Fly to St. Lucia and stay at the Jelaouise Hilton for 4 nights.
-Go to Barboados and stay somewhere less expensive for 6 nights , such as the Barbados Beach Club. We are looking for something no more than $200/nt and near nightlife/fun/nice beaches.
-Stay at the Crane for the last 3 nights to "wind-down" in one of their nicer rooms.

Any suggestions of alternative places to stay would be great. We loved the Royal Pavilion but too expensive for the amount of time we are staying.

Also, has anyone ever booked their hotels/vacations with beachdestinations.com? They have amazing deals it seems, but possible too good to be true?

Any feedback would be so appreciated.
Thank you-
Kara

I personally would pick two locations and stay in each longer. I'd go with a week on St Lucia and a week on Barbados if those are the two you prefer.

The Hilton is nice. Also look at Ladera and Anse Chastanet.

You are going to be tired from the flight and your wedding, and you will not be able to enjoy ANY of the places you are going because it will be GO GO GO the whole time. Packing and unpacking is such a hassle.

We spent almost three weeks in the USVI's/BVI's in 2003 and stayed on 4 different islands - never again!

Also, the Crane is under major renovation, and I am not sure if it will be done by then.

Try Casuarina Beach Resort on Barbados.
Close to nitelife and restaurants on a VERY congested stretch of coast, except Casuarina is off the main road in a quiet spot. Gorgeous "tropical garden" grounds and right on a long wide beach. The Crane is very remote, on a pretty, but fairly rough beach.

I believe the Casuarina Beach Resort will be closing this summer and it will be turned into an all inclusive. I read this on another forum so I'm not 100% sure about timing.

Casuarina is closing on June 1 and will reopen in December as an all-inclusive resort as part of Almond Beach Clubs (possibly a new name).

Hello. Check out the Southern Palms Beach Club http://www.southernpalms.net/index.html. It's located in St Lawrence Gap which would fit the bill for nightlife/fun/nice beaches. The Southern Palms beach is very, very nice. I stayed here in Aug 2004 and had a very nice time. My Barbados tip of the day - everybody raves about the flying fish BUT you have to try grilled Barracuda. They look pretty mean if you are snorkeling with them, but they sure are tasty.
