Bahamas Vs, Cayman Islands vs?

I'd love advice on my last minute vacation dilemma. My husband and I would like to take our two kids 12 and 10 on a Carribean vacation in the second week of August for around $3,000. We're flying out of NYC. I got good deals on places I am afraid are overly commercial. what do you think of the Westin Lucaya in theBahamas or the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman? Any other ideas?

Thanks

Please ignore this. I decided against both properties.

Can you tell us what you did decide on ? :)

As you likely know, Cayman Airways has non-stop service from JFK for US$388 per person, and several hotels in Cayman are offering resort credits from $100-$500 on presentation of your Cayman Airways JFK flight boarding pass, so quite the deal... was it just the Ritz you didn't like, or Cayman :)

I did not know about that deal! I'll have to look at it. I was concerned that Cayman was too commercial. What have you experienced?

Go to the east end of Grand Cayman and it's not commercialized at all.
