Bahamas transportation
 

What is the customary fee for a taxi from the airport to Orange Hill Beach Inn. Do they have transport from the airport to the INN? We are traveling to the Bahamas in June staying one night at the Orange Hill and taking an early flight to Eleuthera. Thank you in advance.

The posted union fare is $18 for 2 ppl. $3 for each add'l person. $1 for each add'l bag beyond the first for each person.
A tip is appreciated.

I am planning a trip around the same time and I had the same question in regards to transport in the evening (around 8:00) from the airport also to Orange Hill. It sounds like taxis are the least expensive way to go?

Taxi's are easy and the least expensive. If you have special needs or need to make a stop to shop etc.. then a service like Fergies taxi's can accomodate at a reasonable price.

If you just need a ride to your hotel.. any cab will do.

Make sure you agree on a rate before you get into the cab.. Rates are posted.. but some try and get away with adding a little here and there.

scubagirrl - We are departing to Governors Harbour at 8:30 am the next day. Do you think we should schedule a taxi before we get to the Bahamas or scheduled at the front desk at the hotel? Just making sure that we don't miss the plane.

When you get to Orange Hill, they can arrange a taxi for you in the AM. You should probably plan on leaving the hotel around 7am. Bahamas Air is often late, but less late, lol, early in the morning. I've also had a flight fill up on me and leave early, so make sure you confirm your filght time before you leave home.

Enjoy Eleuthera, and if you get a chance try and get over to Harbour Island. It's about an hour drive up to the landing for the water taxi over to the island and you can walk or take a taxi on the island (ask for Reggie or Jenna) who would be happy to take you on a guided tour of the island.
