Planning to go to Nassau for two days in late Feb.Has anyone stayed at the Colonial Beach Hilton in Nassau.

HI Fran, the BCH is located in downtown Nassau, a great location, near downtown Bay street, easy access to buses and resturants are nearby, small but very nice beachfront on premises. rooms have been refurbished but they are a bit pricey these days. No complaints about hotel in general other than price. Enjoy!!!

<BR>thanks everyone, snorkeling and Atlantis it is. Plus a lot of shopping. MapleMoon, where are you from, we are from Central New York. My husband is nervous about the snorkeling he's never done it. This is my 2nd cruise, but his first, and I was lucky enough to get to snorkel in Aruba/only 1 month to go. Cant wait, by then Syracuse weather should be about 50-60 degrees cooler than Nassau. Trisha--mopeds sound like fun, are they hard to ride?? Would to find a secluded beach and hide away for a few hours, but don't want to miss any fun!!!! Although maybe a secluded beach would be fun:&gt;

I stayed at the Hilton British Colonial last fall. The rooms are beautiful but VERY small and no balconies. The windows are also small so no views. It is a wonderful hotel for a short stay if you aren't expecting a view of the water from your room. The lobby is very pretty. Small beach also but for two days that might be all you need. The cruise ships past right in front of the beach, that's fun to watch. We took turns in the morning running across the street for coffee and donuts at Dunkin Donuts, best place for a cup of coffe in the early morning. Enjoy your trip!

Fran; Also, the street to the left of Dunkin'Donuts, I forget its name, has a neat old Irish Pub/Restaurant, only a few steps away from the British Colonial. Also, here's a best kept secret. On the beach, facing the bay, you'll notice a breakwall to the left. SNORKEL IT!! If you go to the end, reef fish gather just a few feet from shore. In shoulder deep water at the end of it, there are rocks which attract damsel fish, angel fish, baby trigger fish, sargeant majors, and maybe if you're lucky a small moray eel. I had a great time at the hotel off its beach. Robert
