Back from Cap Juluca
What a wonderful place! It is heaven. It was a great place for our honeymoon, very secluded and private. We had a beautiful room in Villa 19. We were the last villa so there were not to many people around us. We enjoyed the snorkeling trip a lot, I would definately recommend that. Food was very expensive 80-90 a day for lunch including 3 drinks. Dinner was good we went out on the island for dinner most of the time. We really loved Olivers! Mangos was ok nothing to brag about and Flavors was very good. Pimms was ok not much on the menu I liked but the dessert was great. The beach was beautiful for most of our stay but towards the last 2 days there was a lot of grass and seaweed in the water. It was pretty bad and almost non-swimmable. That was the only issue we had but it didnt matter to us since we were leaving. I never did see the pool didnt have to since the beach was so nice! Overall it was a great place.

Generally speaking, if it's windy or seaweed is gathering on one side of the island, the other side is gorgeous & perfect. The great thing about Anguilla is that there are 33 beaches & there's always one that's glorious on any given day!

welcome back! We are leaving tonight. Guess we will check out Oliver's instead of Mango's. I'm glad you had a great honeymoon and loved Cap. I'll drop a note when we return. I'm just hopeing for some sun right now!

Glad you had a good time....i'm heading there in a month from today. I have never been, and was curious...do you need reservations for dinner at any of the nice places? Or just walk in?

Probably reservations aren't crucial in the summer but if you call ahead, you can ensure that you'll get a table by the water or the window, as the case may be. Even though it may not be crowded, Mango's & Altamers have limited beach side seating; Hibernia's is very small; Oliver only has a few tables facing the water (you get my drift here).

We had to make reservations every night. Although when we got to the restaurants it was pretty funny because they were all dead! I guess its just an island thing. You have the hotel lobby call and make your reservations. Its awesome!!

Reservations are a must-busy or not as
they give the chef, staff etc. knowledge of the nights business. I have been told if its slow, or no reservations, many small places will close early-especially during the summer months. |
