Atlantis Review
This is my own personal review of the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. I will not list everything that went wrong, but more so a synopsis of some of the items. However, I will try to give a clear picture of the situations.
The weather was really warm and the resort was huge and beautiful. Though I would never recommend to any of my friends or family to go there. The resort appears to honestly cater to the elite of society. Let me give you an example of how horribly expensive it was. To eat at a simple buffet for dinner it was $44 per person. A can of beer or pop cost $5.25 (which I have experienced worse). One day my husband and I went poolside to get something to eat for lunch, he had a hamburger and 2 beers and I had conch fritters and 2 beers and the bill was $54, I think for any resort and moreover a poolside lunch, that price is outrageous. I went online ahead of time to the Atlantis website (which is a fabulous website), but nothing ever talked about their exact prices and I see why, they only give you dollar signs ($$) for a description of prices. Room Service – We stayed on 5th floor in the Royal Towers, Beach (Water) view. Our rooms were (approx $415 a night). We stayed 4 nights and we only got our room cleaned 2x’s, the other times, they left excuse cards in our room as to why they didn’t clean it. One excuse was “we didn’t want to disturb your belongings.” As far as belongings, my husband hadn’t even unpacked his suitcase yet, and I had all my belongings already hanging up in the closet, so it was an obvious excuse not to clean our room. Another excuse, “you had your Do Not Disturb sign on.” My husband and I didn’t even know where our Do Not Disturb sign was located, let alone post outside our room. It was the last day we were there, that we found our Do Not Disturb sign, it’s a button on the wall you push and it lights up outside your room. Room service only gave us the turn down service in our room one night out of the four nights we were there. The Pigeons – one afternoon I opened up our patio doors and went into the bathroom to shower. When I stepped back into the main room I found pigeons everywhere on our stuff. I couldn’t believe it that the hotel wouldn’t tell people of their problems with the pigeons. I spoke to several other people and they too all had the same problem. No one could enjoy their patio’s because the pigeons would be all over us. The pigeons are everywhere on the resort. While sitting at a poolside restaurant we saw a gentleman carrying his onion rings and fries over to a table. He went back to get his pop and while he was gone the pigeons swarmed his table. There were 15 pigeons there within seconds. They began tearing at his food and flying away with it before we could get up and scare them all away until the gentleman came back to his table. Nothing is safe from the pigeons there. Granted, wildlife is hard to control anywhere, but again, I mentioned this just want to give a clear view of what to expect if someone stays there. At night they want you in the hotel spending money in the casino no ifs and or buts about it. Every pool and activity outside is closed before if not by 6pm and the lights are dimmed to just a bare glow. Infact, one day we were sitting poolside and my husband ran up to get the camera from our room. Keep in mind this was only 4pm and I was watching the staff already picking up vacant lawn chairs and stacking them up in a mad rush. We had 2 lawn chairs and a small table between us. I had my beer on the table when one of the staff members came over, handed me my beer and took our table! I was shocked, upset and basically felt livid that I was being treated so unbelievably rude by the staff. As soon as my husband got back to me, we left and went down to the beach. Where my ordeal with the jelly fish began. Once we got down to the beach we went swimming in the ocean and I got stung by jelly fish. They were everywhere! Yet, the hotel never warned their guests that entering the water was at their own risks, even though they claim that the beach is their property in front of the hotel and it’s their life guards on duty. There were lots of very small children and babies in the water too, and they didn’t warn anyone. Parts of my body that were stung become severely red and inflamed and was really painful, I can’t imagine what it would do to a small child. Once people saw that I was stung they started to get out. I went to the lifeguard on duty and he put some cream on my arm. His words, “this happens all the time here, last week and the week before we went through several tubes of cream.” I asked him why they don’t warn people his response was just laughter. This happened at 4pm, I wasn’t satisfied with lifeguards putting cream on my arm when they couldn’t even tell me what the cream was that they were applying. So I went to the nurses station but it was already closed for the day (4pm). All the “shopping stores” on site are far too expensive to actually buy anything. The majority of people take a ferry into the main island (the Straw Market) to buy gifts/souvenirs. It was very apparent that the staff there don’t really care to help the ordinary person. An ordinary person I’m describing as simple shorts, shirt, shoes, nothing name brand. While I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my husband, I witnessed an ordinary person walk up to the counter and try to get a question answered, the staff did everything not help the person, they walked away and ignored her, finally after several minutes (yes several minutes) someone did, but they were very rude. Five minutes later another person walked up to ask a question, but she had on diamonds, carrying a Louis Vuitton handbag and name brand clothes, the staff immediately helped her with whatever she wanted. We were treated the same in the stores onsite also. In one store that I had walked into the staff were busy talking about their personal business using foul language when I walked up to the counter to pay for something, I asked for someone to help me so that I could pay for my item. In return I received annoyed looks from them and was treated in a rude manner because I interrupted their conversation. What I also found very annoying is there is no one waiting on you at the beach and/or poolside. If you want something to drink, you need to leave all your personal belongings (or pack them all up and take with you) everytime you want something. Now granted this is for my own personal enjoyment. But when I stay at a 5+ star hotel, I expect a little wait service from the staff. My husband and I expect to pay higher prices at a 5+ Star hotel for food, service, drinks and we won’t complain about it, it just goes without saying for that matter. However, when we do pay for it and don’t receive respect in return, is just completely unacceptable. Sincerely, ~Loving2Travel |
Sorry about your crummy trip. It sounds like it wasn't very fun. I think Atlantis gets panned big time on this board, as well as trip advisor. I may be wrong, but the sentiment that they try to nickel and dime guests over food and that the service isn't good is quite common.
|
Sorry you had a bad experience. I know when we were at the Atlantis, the beach chairs had a flag we would put up to get bar servcie on the beach. We did NOT have to get up and get our own drinks.
|
I am sorry you had a bad time also. Yes this resort gets a lot of bad reviews. We went last Oct(2004) and had a good time. We had most of our family there. So, with our crowd, we would have had a good time almost anywhere. The weather was good and so was the food. I did think it was very overpriced for what it was, but we had our fun.(I must say that the only money I spent in the casino were the chips I bought for family to enjoy. They all came for my birthday at their own expense. I did not gamble myself. )
We did the gourmet meal plan and only had one evening buffet which I thought was rather mediocre food. The gourmet restaurants are much better. Yes, they were expensive, but we ate everything and gained 10 pounds each! Like I said before, we had fun because we all were together with our family in a tropical place. We will not return however. Too many places to go! |
God, this sounds terrible!
Of all the places around the world discussed on all the threads on this baord, Atlantis seems to get consistently panned, especially for its poor service. I don't understand how they stay in business - at those prices there are so many other, really nice places to go! As for the rudeness to the "regular person" - there are all kinds of super-wealthy people who dress as you describe - how does the staff know who is who? Have you ever seen how Bill Gates dresses on vacation? The attitude you describe is so wrong on so many levels. I hope your next trip is a lot better - you deserve it! |
I have to agree with your accessment. We stayed at the Sandals Royal Bahamian and went to Atlantis for the day. Not being a guest of the hotel we were required to wear a specific colored wrist band. With the band we were only allowed access to the Aquarium and Digs. The employees were quite rude to us especially when we went out the wrong door door trying to find the entance to the outside Aquarium. I understand they probably get a lot of people that try to gain access to areas they are not sup

oops. hit the wrong button...
supposed to be in, but there are better, more friendly ways to direct a person. $25 p/p for entrance to the Aquarium and Digs was way overpriced. We had recently been to the Aquarium in Houston, TX on our way to the Bahamas, it was twice as nice with more things to do and 1/2 of what we paid at the Atlantis. We also paid $5 for one 8oz bottle of water at a little deli located by the entrance to the digs. We orginally wanted to stay at the Atlantis when we were researching the trip and decided it was way too much money. We loved Sandals and was so glad we stayed there instead on their AI option. Great dining choices with good food/drinks and included in the price upfront. |
Mrs. al and I flew down to Atlantis last week to use up a few vacation days (and boy are our arms tired)!
I've gotta tell you -- just because a place tries to beat you over the head that it's 5-star, home to the hippest, coolest people on earth, that "Monte Carlo is over, this is the place to be", etc. doesn't make it so. 5-star properties give you personal attention and excellent service and Atlantis is way too big for that. Too many people, too many kids. Lots of people everywhere all the time. Just accept Atlantis for what it is -- a wacky, themed Vegas-by-the-sea kind of place and you'll have a much better time. Despite all the silliness we had a fine time and would go back -- but not right away. To offset the high cost of food we brought some snacks with us. For breakfast we went to Starbucks in the Marina and ordered coffee to eat with our coffee cake. Cost $5.90. A couple days we bought pastries at Starbucks and that raised the cost to $11. Lunch: Beer or cocktails. Cost $12-14. For dinner we ate early and did whatever we wanted. Most of the meals averaged a little over $100 (with wine), although Carmine's came in under $100 and The Point (in the Harborside area) came in at $66. Didn't have any pigeons in our room, but there were a few Hitchcock "The Birds" moments with divebombing seagulls at one of the pools now and then. For those of you considering Atlantis and want something closer to real 5-star go next door to the Ocean Club. Or better yet, skip the pretensions and go to Cable Beach where you can get a taste of what a Bahamas vacations used to be. |
I have for the last 11 years taken our family of 10 on a trip. We did Atlantis about 5 years ago. When we talk about our favorite trips, Atlantis is NEVER mentioned. They checked a family of 4 into an uncleaned room with one bed. My husband spent hours trying to straighten out the mess. They tried to get rid of him by telling him the real manager would be back at such and such a time. My husband finally realized he had to stand there and make a fuss until he had some action.
We would never go back. We have had very memorable trips at considerable less cost. Owa |
Yeesh! I was intrigued by all the neat stuff they advertised like the 5 story high slide, the walk through the aquarium tunnel, etc., but I have to say reading so many bad reviews, I don't think I'll ever go to the Atlantis Resort. Thanks for the warning.
|
I have no intention ever to stay in Nassau nor Freeport. We go to Abaco twice a year. Please note there are over 700 islands in the Bahamas not just Nassau and Freeport. Don't judge the Bahamas harshly as a whole because of the overcommercialized Nassau!!
|
I don't think anyone is judging the Bahamas harshly or calling Nassau overcommercialized -- this thread is about Atlantis.
Knowing what we know, if someone is disappointed because Atlantis isn't the idyllic, romantic Bahamian vacation they thought it would be, they just haven't done their homework. But with the all the fish and water slides no one can deny that it's a fun place for kids and teenagers and for anyone who likes to keep busy. To each their own. |
OH boy, we are taking our twin sons age 12 in the fall for the first time. We have been to WDW, I am not comparing by any means. However, I a SCARED after reading all the reviews.
My Husband will not be to happy with me.lol...We have the Map plan and I will bring snacks, water, alcohol, lol. ect. WE are staying in a one bedroom. My kids love to swim, ect? Should we reconsider?? Are we going to be disapointed? Thanks |
Your 12 year old sons will have a great time. The aquariums are amazing, the water slides fun, free movies, lots of children their age, nice beach,... Atlantis is not a quiet, romantic place, but it is fun. You can save a lot of money by eating off the resort and packing snacks. Had I done more research, we would have eaten more casually some of the evenings and ventured off the property more. No matter what resort you research, people will have bad experiences and share them with you. How could your sons not have fun on a beautiful island with so much to keep them busy? Buy your husband a fancy (but expensive) drink while the boys have a great time on the water slides.
|
I agree with lovethcape. There are a lot of Atlantis bashers out there. We enjoy our visits to the Atlantis. Yes it's big. Yes it's expensive. It's also beautiful with a great beach and the aquariums and The Dig are great. Just go and enjoy. Your boys will love it.
|
Thanks so much, I feel much better! And your right everyone has both good and bad experiences no matter what! Also, lovethecape, thanks for the info on the meals. I am still on the fence with the MAP meal plan. One of my sons is fussy...so it might not be worth it.
|
Natp14 - Some people like the meal plans. We wanted more flexibility. There are some less expensvie restaurants near by including a Quiznos. We had pizza delivered one night. However, most evenings we ate at one of the nicer sit, down restaurants. I made reservations one month before our trip. You can learn about the various restaurants on the Atlantis web site. My sons, ages 11 and 7 at the time were tired of eating at "nicer" restaurants and by the end of the week and welcomed the buffet. However, for my husband and me, the buffet was fine for a night or two. In the AM, we just bought bagels, pastries, and juice in the lobby of the hotel.
In a way, Atlantis is like Disney World, because it is busy, you may have to wait at various times and helps to do some research before you go. My sons liked it as much as Disney. |
I would take some of the bad reviews with a grain of salt. Not to discredit anyone else and Im very sorry you didnt have a great time, attacking birds, rude staff and lazy housekeepers, there is no excuse for, but I think it is important to take into consideration the circumstances of everyone. I am in my mid twenties with no kids from New York City going with my boyfriend for 3 days. I dont know that the experience of a mom with three toddlers from Kansas who stayed there for 8 nights would help me much. Prices are higher in New York City, period, so if someone in Alabama says Atlantis is pricey, it's probably something Ill be used to. $200 dinners are kind of the norm here. Also, if someone writes a bad review because they had a 3 hour check in problem, thats the experience of maybe 5% of the guests at Atlantis, the other 95% probably had a great check in experience, but you're getting that one persons bad experience only. Obviously it would put ideas in ones head. Ive read these reviews and don tget me wrong, I am a little nervous but I also realize that I need to take the reviews with a grain of salt because someone who has a bad experience is ten times more likely to tell the masses than someone who went and had a fabulous time and has no need to sit at a computer and warn anyone. And then there's the goldenrule of entertainment...see it yourself, dont depend on others. Take into consideration the tips to go buy your water elsewhere but I dont think cancelling a trip based on someone else's bad experience is very smart. ANyway, that's my 2 1/2 cents. I hope everyone has a fun time at Alantis if you choose to go, Im going this weekend for my birthday and I expect it to be great.
|
Kimberly: You are probably correct in the fact that more people will write a bad review than a good one. Here on this network however, the regulars write both good and bad.
You will most likely have a great vacation. I think a long weekend is a very appropriate time length for the Atlantis. It is pricey, but so is 95% of anything nice in the Caribbean. It doesn't matter whether you come from Kansas or NY. I do think that different people expect to pay different prices for a vacation. At the Atlantis, you are under their roof so to speak. There are no bargains. I knew that when I booked it. Since you have no children, I will warn you that this is a hot spot for family vacations. I recommend the gourmet meal plan. Don't eat at the buffets except for breakfast(breakfast is very good). The nicer restaurants have very good food. The Royal Towers was definitely the nicest building in my opinion. We had no problems with pool chairs or beach chairs. We had no problems with housekeeping or other things people complain about. You will find many of your NY neighbors there. It is a quick flight for them. My family flew in from NJ. We went for my birthday and enjoyed our trip. If you have a good review when you return, don't forget to post it. If you have a bad one....well let's hope not. |
sadly, I just returned from a week at Harbourside. I wish I was still there.
While it CAN be expensive, a bit of planning can make it bearable. We took snacks with us for the kids, went to the grocery and liquor store the first day. And avoided eating breakfast out of the room. I couldnt have been more pleased with the staff, the grounds, the amenities. All of it was top notch, so I didnt mind paying top dollar. We always had a waiter within a few minutes of sitting down at all the pools and the beaches. And at 7 bucks, the tropical drinks are about what you would pay at any resort. I'd recommend it to everyone. |
Ill certainly come back and post about my experience, good or bad!
I dont think we'll do any of the food plans, but we may change our minds once we get there, really it's up to my boyfriend, it's my birthday weekend so I think he'd probably intended on footing most of the bill. I do realize that it is probably a huge family resort, but Im hoping that since school is back in and it is after the travel filled holidays the place wont be that crowded, either way, we dont mind kids in the least. My boyfriends a big kid himself and he's obsessed with sharks and aquatic life so thats a plus. I do expect it to be quite expensive, but to be honest, sometimes we spend $500 in a weekend just going out in New York, so why not do it in the Bahamas, right? Be back soon! |
Thanks so much everyone!!! After reading a lot of your comments, ect. I think we are going to cancel the MAP plan, we can always change our minds when we get there (which I didn't realize). We really are not big breakfast eaters and my kids/husband are going to need lunch. Along with the fact that now that we know that we can venture off property to eat and buy grocerys I think it is the way to go for us. And we would like to eat in one of the gourmet resturants too. I just hope this isn't going to be a problem with the travel agent. I wish I had found this board before I booked!

Years ago we stayed at one of the properties next to the Atlantis and walked up on a couple occasions to have breakfast and visit the casino. I wasn't impressed with the beach but the pool was nice and lively. My favorite was the Atlantis aquarium. The one problem I had with Paradise Island /Nassau was the water was COLD in March! I had a few beers with the locals in downtown Nassau (which was fun) so I felt pretty good about the island but the next day we did more exploring (circled the island) on a moped. I would not recommend that for the faint of heart or anyone for that matter. There is serious poverty and people milling about in large groups who didn't appear real friendly. Anyway, we survived and overall it was a fun vacation...so enjoy!
|
We have plans to travel to Atlantis in August with our 21 and 19 year-olds. They enjoy nightclubs, dancing etc. Is this somewhere they can take advantage of this without driving? Do we need a car? What about getting groceries etc.?
Thanks in advance for your advice. |
There is a market just down the street where you can buy grocries. No need for a car. I haven't been to Atlantis in a couple of years, but there used to be a club right off the casino for dancing.
|
I think that part of the problem that many people have with the Atlantis is that you pay Four Seasons prices but you do not get Four Seasons quality.
I've gone twice and stayed in the Royal Tower. The rooms were nice but nothing exceptional. If I had paid full price, I would have been disappointed. As far as the restaurants - again, same problem - NYC prices but not NYC quality. They were mediocre but nothing spectacular. That being said it can be a fun place for a long weekend - nice beach and grounds, the Dig is cool, and a casino. |
Don't know if this is mentioned above, but:
1. There is a massive construction project going on behind the Royal Towers -- condos or timeshares or something like that, so the view from the BACK of the Royal Towers these days is basically dirt and construction equipment. You might do better by staying in the Coral Towers for the next several months. (That's as of middle-December, 2005.) 2. If you watch the different travel sites you do NOT have to pay $400 a night. You can pay as little as $99 per room per night for Beach Tower (perfectly acceptable) if you time your trip accordingly. |
I'm on the fence right now....... :(
|
wife and i are going to the atlantis in may for my 40th birthday. after reading the reviews i to am getting a little nervous. please advise its never to late to change vacations.
|
Don't be on the fence. If Atlantis is charging a lot of money now, wait...watch the travel sites. Look for specials. They roll around every now and then. Sign up with Travelzoo -- they always post the specials there.
For $99-$179 a night (per room) you'll have a blast; for $270-$400 a night you may feel ripped off. |
The Atlantis is what it is. I think it is a fun resort with good food. You can dine in numerous restaurants and never leave the property. Nassau is the closest city and it is not a place that I would recommend visiting.
When you pull up to the resort, it is very over the top. It is actually gawdy because of the statues and fountains. But it adds to the atmosphere. It is fun. If you want to get away, drink, gamble, sit on a beach, enjoy a cool slide and eat some good food, then go and have fun. We went for my fortieth birthday and we had a blast. I doubt we will return because there are so many places to visit. It is expensive, but so is everywhere else in the Caribbean. My brother stayed two nights in the Beach tower and said that it was dumpy and old. We were in the Royal towers and reserved a basic room.(Which looked very nice.) My husband upgraded us when we arrived to a suite to surprise me for my birthday. It was even nicer. I would not change my plans because of a few bad reviews. I would take them with a grain of salt. Some people think a Holiday Inn is a fabulous resort and some expect the Ritz. So each person is giving his or her opinion. I thought the people were friendly. I had a good experience there. We had good housekeeping, dining was delicious, drinks were frosty, kids loved the pools and slides(so did my husband). I would rate the grounds as first class-five star and more. This is a huge property and the grounds are kept very clean and beautiful. The basic room at the Royal tower was like a nice Marriott room. The suite was more like a Ritz room with a fantastic bath. The lobby is pretty awesome walking through. The place is crowded and there always lots of people milling around. If you are looking for quiet, this is not the place. |
Like it has been said other places in this thread, your enjoyment of Atlantis may be directly proportionate to what you pay. There's a special going on NOW for the month of February (2006) -- $159 per night per room for Beach Tower (more for Coral and Royal), so if anyone is interested, CHECK IT OUT on the Atlantis website. (I have nothing to do with any of this -- my brother is a fan of the place and just forwarded me the link.)

Actually the link is not readily apparent on the website. Here it is:

I just got back from Atlantis. My boyfriend (26 years old) surprised me with a weekend there for my 23rd birthday on Friday so we only stayed for 3 days but I can honestly say it was better than some 8 day vacations I've taken.
The place is amazing, especially if you find sea life fascinating because there's so much of it from sharks to the tiniest sea anemonies, they're all over, tehres even a little aquarium called The Dig that was really interesting. I felt like Atlantis was a cross between a water park, a pool and aquarium and a beach resort. A few things I agree with from other reviewers is that it is VERy expensive. It was just me and my boyfriend and we spent $900 not including what we paid for the rooms or airfare, and that's in 2 and a half days! It is also VERY big and you do a lot of walking, if you're into something more intimate and less crowded dont bother with the Atlantis, or stay next store at the One & Only resort or the Comfort Inn where you have access to the Alantis. That said, I dont think it was THAT crowded, the place is too big to be really crowded, people are so spread out. Other than that I have to say the staff was very nice, not overly nice or overly accommodating, because that's impossible when you're dealing with thousands of guests, but certainly not rude or snobby as some people have said and they did all they could to accommodate what you needed. In fact my boyfriend made friends with many of them and they recognized us around the resort when we passed them. The room we stayed in was in the east side of the royal towers and was definitely bigger than your average hotel room. It was also very clean all the time and the cleaning ladies were great. It was on a high floor and overlooked the harbor. The only room issue we had was that we got to our room and it had 2 beds when we'd requested 1 king size bed but we called guest services and were in a new room with a king size bed in literally 15 minutes. At night we didnt go to the casino, we arent really gamblers, but the casino is huge and as others have said, definitely reminded us of Vegas. It looks like a lot of fun if you like gambling. We went to the newly opened restaurant Nobu for my birthday dinner and the food was AMAZING. If you're not aware of Nobu, it's a famour Japanese chef. We're from New York and getting a reservation at Nobu here is really hard so it was cool to be able to eat there. The service there was a little iffy only because they'd just opened a week ago and were having some problems getting orders out properly, but the staff was still very sweet and accomodating. After that we drank and danced at Dragons until 1:30am and called it a night. Dragons was fun, but really small and didnt get going until 11:30 or so but fun music and drinks, we danced and certainly got the effect we wanted by the end of the night :) In total that night alone we spent about $500 just on dinner and drinks, but mostly because we ate and drank..A LOT, and the drinks were expensive. As far as the automatic 15% gratuity on everything, I didnt mind at all. Gratuity is customary where I live and the customary tip is 20% so even if service wasnt great we'd still leave at least 15% so it didnt matter to us that it was already added in. There is tons to do during the day as well. There are a bunch of pools, the lagoon and the beach. Just so much to take in. THere's also a little marina town. We didnt even see all of the grounds because we were just there for a few days and before we left for the airport we discovered a whole new pool and bunch of waterslides we never knew were there! The beach was nice, I only laid there once after we rented a jet ski, which was one of the highlights of our trip. We paid $50 to jet ski for a half an hour and had so much fun out there it is inexplicable, even though I got thrown off the back of one twice, I never stopped laughing. SOme people have said it was hard to get chairs by the pools, there were always chairs available, some of them were just inshady areas, sometimes there's nothing out in the sun but a great tip for those who dont have kids and want some peace and quiet, go to the Sports Center, its a bit of a trek to get there and its surrounded by construction but there is a lap pool there and lounge chairs all around and its drenched in sun and we went there every day and there were MAYBE 3 other people there sunbathing. It was perfectly peaceful, if you dont mind the occassional bulldozer in the background. THe watersliders were fun. My favorite was the one that went through a dark tube and ended up going through the aquarium with the sharks in them. The sharks were small but very cool. We wanted to see the tiger shark but found out it had died jsut a couple months ago. The big big slide that going almost vertical I didnt even attempt, too scary for me. But I heard people getting off of it saying it was fun. Looked like it hurt though! Other than that, all in all, it was the most fun Ive had in a weekend in a long time. The weather was great (81 every day, sunny, some clouds), the food was great at the restaurants we went to (Carmine's, Nobu and Murrayss Deli) but beware of some of the poolside food. Shark Bites (burgers/chicken wraps, etc) was good but there were a few other food huts that werent so great. And the cocktails by the pool are VEEEEERY weak, Id stick to beer if you want to feel anything at all :) I know my review probably wont apply to a family of 5 kids staying for 8 nights who wont exactly be partying until 2 in the morning or going to swanky dinners at Nobu but either way if you have any questions ask away. I loved Atlantis and although on my next trip to the Bahamas I'd probably opt to go somewhere a little more quet and exclusive I will be back to Atlantis some daY! |
I have stayed on Cable Beach (ta the Wyndham) and at Atlantis. Our most recent trip to the Bahamas was last March and we stayed at Atlantis. We stayed a week and had an incredible time. Never once did I feel service was poor, nor did I find the place was dirty at all. We stayed in the Beach Tower (although we did not get as good a deal as some have described on this site, since March is a peak travel month, with Spring break). We had the gourmet meal plan. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to sample the great gourmet restaurants there. For us it was a great deal. The breakfast buffent in the royal towers is amazing also (and included in the plan). For those who have sticker shock at the food prices, remember the Bahamas IS an island, almost everythingmust be imported, so food will be expensive. There are some restaurants on Cable Beach that are just as expensive and less than half as good as those at Atlantis. I loved this resort and will return again and again.
