Atlantis Resort with teenagers-need ideas
Will be traveling to Atlantis Resort with 4 teenagers and would appreciate any info concerning places to eat, entertainment (on site and off site) and any other "not to missed" things to see and do while we are there. Thank you!

Lael: We visited Atlantis during our trip just over a week ago. We actually stayed on Cable Beach, though.
The Atlantis complex is unbelieveable. It has some great architecture, a lagoon, pools, a replica Mayan temple with waterslides, a casino, restaurants, shops and an amazing aquarium. What until you see it!
There is a great little place just down the street called "Anthony's". Neat restaurant. You can also take the water taxi over to Nassau and check out the seaport, shops, restaurants and the famous Straw Market which is a maze of merchants and shops.
Check out the Cafe' Johnny Canoe and Dickey Moe's, both on Cable Beach for good, change-of-pace restaurants.
Have fun!

We stayed at Tlantis last year with my 16 yr old.It will blow them away . They can go parasailing or hire a jet ski off the beach. The snorkelling is so much fun. The places to eat in the resort are fine. Do not be tempted to go the snorkelling park off Paradise Island.Hokey. The pirate museum is fun though.Ther is so mush to see and do at the resort though.

For dinner take a 25-minute walk over the Paradise Island bridge, make a left, go 3 more blocks, and have dinner at the Poop Deck. You can eat outside on a balcony overlooking the marina, and the food is outstanding, with tremendous variety. My sisters' teenage kids loved it there.

I found Atlantis to be like staying at a shopping mall with pools.
The one "don't miss" thing to do at Atlantis is to explore ALL of the waterscapes. In particular, don't miss the stingray pool. The rays are "de-stung" and will come over to you to get petted. I kid you not. It's the most mindblowing thing you'll ever experience.

Ditto all of the above. In addition, let them see the real Bahamas, which is under, not above, the beautiful turquoise waters. Call the dive ops and go for a snorkeling expedition to view hundreds of reef fish and colorful corals. At night, probably not a good idea to let them tour Bay Street area in downtown Nassau. It has crime like any other large city. As you walk from Atlantis to the PI Bridge, veer to the left and walk down to a small ferry operation that will take you to the downtown strawmarket/dock area. You'll meander between huge cruise ships, and the captain gives you a humorous tour. Walk to the straw market, and then toward the old British Colonial Hotel on Bay Street. Across Bay Street from the hotel is a neat restaurant called the "Conch___?__." It has great food at less expensive prices. But, believe me, a snorkeling tour to shallow reefs would be a memory they wouldn't forget. Type in "Bahama Divers" on Yahoo and view the locations that they and other dive ops go to. Have a great time! Robert
