Atlantis hotel in Bahamas

Has anyone been to the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas. My wife and I and our one year old are looking for a moderately priced resort with a beach, snorkeling, and nearby golf (with reasonable green fees). Is the resort nice? Expensive? A good value? Is the golf good? Does anyone have any other suggestions? We will be flying from Los Angeles.
Thanks.

Atlantis is an amazing property but it is not inexpensive, there are some package deals available so check with your travel agent. It also depends on
when you are planning on going May through October are off season and the prices go down.

You can also do a meal plan at Atlantis and eat at any of the 23 restaurants on the property.

If you are looking for nice lodging and do not want to pay the prices for Atlantis try the Comfort Suites which is right across the street, staying there you have full access to all of the amenities at Atlantis and the cost is much lower. There is also a buffet breakfast included in the price of your room.

Atlantis is a little Vegas, and Disneyland in the Bahamas. There is so much to do and the beach there is very nice.

Have a great time and enjoy the Bahamas, if you need more information, feel free to holler, or email at your convenience.

Atlantis is a great place, (the small rooms, expensive restaurants, and less the adequate service notwithstanding), but you will spend a great deal of money.

John; My wife and I travel frequently to Nassau, on island hops to the outer islands. Research the comfort Suites, which are 45 seconds walking distance from the Atlantis. And, you have full access to all Atlantis' recreation. You may also want to contact the old British Colonial Hotel in the downtown area, just a minute walk from the straw market. 9 acres of private grounds and beach as well. The old "BC", as the islanders name her, was being renovated last summer 1998 when we were visiting Nassau. If you need more informatin, feel free to contact me. The Atlantis was elbow-to-elbow people around the pool area, although the beach is nice with more room. Enjoy. Bob

John,

I would agree with the others that the Atlantis is more expensive. However, when I go on vacation, I like to feel pampered, so staying there is right up my alley. We have been to Paradise Island twice. The first time we stayed at the Holiday Inn because we had our 7 year old daughter with us and they had a nice kids program. Holiday is located very close to the Atlantis, so we would walk down there as well. I kept wishing that was where we were staying! 6 months later my husband and I returned by ourselves and stayed at the Atlantis and enjoyed every second of it. I think it is a totally personal thing. I like to stay at the absolutely nicest place I can afford.

Unbeleivable hotel!! Unfortunately all of the money spent went into the hotel and not into the service. I will go back because it is an amazing place and the golf course is about 1 mile away (cost: about $100 for a round). Also the golf course has two holes right on the water. Restaurants are outrageously priced so go on their meal plan. Just have alot of patience!! The y do not know the meaning of service.

We went on our honeymoon at the Atlantis. It is a fabulous waterpark, aquaurium, casino complex. Waterfalls everywhere. We loved it. Very romantic and we had a ball. We purchased the gourmet food plan and ate in the best restaurants. I haven't had scrambled eggs and breakfast like that since I left. It was a bit pricey but worth it. We visited alot of the hotels on the island and nothing compares to the the luxury of Atlantis.
