Asking for advice on family vacation!.
Any suggestion for a family vacation in the Caribbean for a reasonable price?. Also, taking into consideration that we are 3 1/2 people(husband, toddler and pregnant wife).

Thanks.

You might want to check out posts on FDR, Beaches Negril and Turks and Caicos, Boscobel Beach and or Poinceana (not sure of spelling). BB and P seem to be cheapest, I have seen good and poor reviews of both. Good luck.

I think Boscobel Beach in Jamaica is a great family place. We were there in 1992 when my girls were 4 and 5. Luckily, my girls love the beach and pool and don't need much more entertainment than that. However, there is a kid's camp, a kid's buffet every day at about 5:00, a game room, and every water sport right at the beach. We've taken the kids to the Caribbean several times, and Boscobel Beach is my favorite family place. I would go again. If you do go to Jamaica, it's not the best island to explore on your own -- I wouldn't recommend leaving the resort. The hotel has trips to Dunn's River Falls, etc. For this reason, right now, Jamaica has very low prices. Good luck!

Go for the USVI, you'll find the best value for the money.

I guess some people's idea of reasonable is quite different than mine. I thought FDR and Beaches were expensive ($ 5,000/week for a family of 4).

I would suggest the Dominican Republic. The prices are much more reasonable (more like $ 3500), the beaches are gorgeous and there are some beautiful properties with great kids programs. Try the Melia and Iberostars in Punta Cana. More bang for your buck than in the rest of the caribbean.

I'm curious Debbi, what does a week at Boscobel cost for 2 adults and 2 kids, All inclusive?

I'd never go pregnant to DR. The chance of getting food poisioning is to risky for this one. Just my opinion.
