Aruba Wind
We just got back from a wonderful trip to Aruba. Had a great time. My only complaint is the constant gusty wind. We brought hats but could not use them most of the time because the wind would either blow them away or flip the rim up and render them useless. Is there a time/season where the wind would not be as strong? We are considering coming back at some time in the future...

I am sorry to say in my honest opinion it always about the same. Others may weigh in but I have been in June, December, April, and always Jan/Feb. I have never noticed less windy. There is certainly a plus side to that wind. One never feels really hot, and did you notice bugs? The wind keeps them away shall I say blows them away. Sitting on a beach with sand hitting you is not fun, however. At this time of year if you were on another island the mosquitos would be bad hot and muggy.
I know the wind annoys me as well but it is small price to pay for paradise. |
I agree with diann24. But I have found that some areas of beach are less windy than others. For instance, the beach in front of The Radisson has always been less windy than the beach in front of what used to be The Westin.

You could always try calling the Aruba board of tourism, and put in a request to slow the wind down..... ;-)

Believe me - you do NOT want the wind to stop - we have been there and without the wind it is WAY TOO HOT
