Aruba weather

Feeling SO cranky. We are going to Aruba next week and lately they have had rain every day!!!! And I'm not talking a short shower. It's been rain for a few hours. Since when do they have do much rain? It's a desert? Anyone go there in January? Hooping things will improve but is there anything todo indoors???

The forecast looks ok for next week. I was in Curacao in June a few years back and it is supposed to be sunny and dry then, but it poured for two days and then the sun came back.

I'll hoping it holds up. Been raining almost daily last three weeks

Actually we are first getting there Thursday 1/12 and unfortunately the whole time we are there 50 percent chance of rain. If I could cancel my trip and go somewhere else I would.

Are you getting your reports of rain from someone who is actually the island or are you relying on what you have been seeking on various internet weather websites(like weather.com)? If the latter, then you should know that most weather websites ALWAYS, REPEAT, ALWAYS for just about every island in the Caribbean. If you checked them everyday for a year (without actually being there) you'd swear the sun never shines anywhere in the Caribbean That's because it's the tropics and it will probably rain somewhere on the island for some time every day. What those forecasts don't tell you is rain when it does come is often in the form of very brief, fast moving widely scatter showers that last minutes rather than hours. It is not unusual for it to sprinkle in one area and be bright, sunny and dry as a bone 1/4 mile away.

Unless there is a major tropical storm brewing we who live in the Caribbean rarely pay any attention to the basic weather websites and hardly ever look at them. They are inaccurate and trying to predict weather for a small tropical island for more than a few hours in advance is a guess at best an almost impossible for a week or more in advance. If, however, you must satisfy your urge to try and predict what the the weather will be during your upcoming vacation I suggest you use "sailing websites like wind finder.com or windguru.cz as they will give you a better understanding of what you can likely expect.

You are making me feel so much better since it seriously is showing rain everyday. I'm gonna stop looking and start anticipating the fun and sun. Thanks

We were just in Aruba around Christmas. I had seen similar rainy forecasts when I looked in the days leading up to our trip, but the weather was absolutely gorgeous while we were there. No rain at all.

Diann24 Just came home last night. We had a great time. It seems like since November they have had more rain then usual but the weather seems to be getting drier . We had mostly good weather (even though when we left every day had rain on weather app). Only one day did it rain hard and for a long time and we were On a jeep tour that day and still had fun. (Abc all day tour with Hugo )Other then that it was just a few showers.
I will do a trip report when I have time. In the mean time if you have questions let me know

Thanks jul4. Ahhh ABC jeep tour--we have done that tour. Not for the faint of heart. Unbelievable isn't it? I am glad you had a good time and mostly great weather. We leave in 2 weeks I hope the weather continues to improve. We went once in December and had a quite a bit of rain but it was showers off and on---one day it rained hard all day. They say the weather pattern is changing for Aruba.
