aruba vacation
 

We are going to aruba on may 3 for a week any suggestions for resturants, casinos etc. We are staying at Casa Del Mar. Thanks, Susan

Radisson, allegro and the wyndham are all good. I stayed at the allegro and just walked up and down the street that runs along palm beach, going in and out of the hotels. these three all have great casinos and the allegro has a pretty decent italian restaurant. THere is a cool braziliam restaurant that serves churascao (spelling?)- which means that they bring you about 14 different meats on skewers, from which you may sample, there is a huge salad bar, huge desserts and warm ambiance. definite recommend! and try salt n peppers. a trendy restaurant with a huge variety in their menu. oh, the radisson may have poker tournaments- get in on some where ever they are- you get to &quot;hang with the locals&quot; which provides an interesting look at the papiemento language!<BR>have fun!<BR>there are american restaurants (like burger king, pizza hut,etc. don't you dare go there! :)

We have been to Aruba twice, most recently in Nov. I'm sure you will love it! <BR>I would recommend El Gaucho for great Argentinian Steak. The Brazillain place is Amazonia. It is excellent. I would suggest not over doing it on the salad bar, there is so much meat coming around that you want to have enough room to try everything. Another great place is Flying Fishbone. The tables are on the beach and it's nice to sit there during sunset. Reservations would be a must for a sunset dinner.<BR>I believe it is in San Nicolas, you will need a car to get there or plan for an expensive cab ride. We also enjoyed Chalet Suisse.<BR>Have a great time!

Aruba is great... I agree with Valencia, El Gaucho is awesome. I've also heard great things about the flying fishbone (though I haven't been there), and we enjoyed le petite cafe. Have fun!

It's been several years since we were there, so I hope this is still good info. <BR><BR>If you want a fine dining recommendation, the restaurant at the Hyatt (the one outside) was absolutely outstanding. It was not only outstanding food, but the atmosphere was paradise. It's setup like ruins from an old stone mill, amid pools of water and tons of foliage and waterfalls (I think). It's all outside and the lighting was all provided by torches and candlelight. <BR><BR>Just fantastic.

There are so many good restaurants in Aruba there's too many to list. Besides the previous mentioned restaurants, our favorites are:<BR>PASION BODEGA (European-Asian fusion) with their extensive wine list, CHALET SUISSE--fantastic cuisine --nice ambiance, MADAME JANETTE sit outside in a patio with twinkling lights (guitarist/singer 8:00 p.m.), GASPARITO sit outside enjoying local aruban dishes and other, and sit outside on a deck for barbecue night at TABASKO on Monday and I believe Thursday--steak, fish, chicken, sausage, salads, potatos all you can eat-$20 each with live band singing soft rock (in front of closed Bushiri Hotel near downtown). <BR>If you go into a search engine such as Google and type out &quot;Aruba-restaurtants&quot; you should get information.

Hi,<BR>For a really special night, go to Papiemento restaurant. It is expensive, but beautiful. Ask to sit outside by the pool.<BR>Another less expensive and fun place is Madame Janette's. <BR>We have been to Aruba every year for about 14 years. You will love it!

The best dinner we had while on Aruba was at Le Dome, a Belgian restaurant close to Costa Linda and Bucuti in the low-rise section. Great food, good service and excellent wines.

We stayed at the Radisson and enjoyed 2 wonderful dinners at the Sunset Grill there. Each night we were served complimentary sushi that was delicious. The ahi tuna entree melted in my mouth!<BR><BR>I would also agree with the restaurant at the Hyatt - Ruinas del Mar I believe is the name. VERY romantic and great food. <BR><BR>We went to another place that the name is escaping me...it was a very odd name. They had a very cheeky dinner show...but we had a blast! and the lobster was unbelievable. <BR><BR>Rent a jeep and drive down to baby beach, snorkel and then drive all the way around the island...get a map so you can find the natural pool and natural bridge. skip the snorkeling boat tour that takes you out the shipwreck. <BR><BR>Have a blast!
