Aruba Trip
I booked the Allegro for the end of june.
My wife is afraid of lizards and other reptiles, and was told that she would see iguanas in Aruba, especially by the pool. Has
anyone had that experience?
|
Just returned from the Radisson - next door to Allegro. Yes, we saw a couple of small iguanas here and there - always on a rock under a tree, never running around on the beach or in the pool. Really hardly noticeable.

Hi Mark,
We stayed at the Hyatt 2yrs. ago and
we saw alot of gecko's around the
hotel, mostly the bar area. We did see
two large iguanas by the patio area
at the pool. They just sat and looked
at us and we weren't real concerned
about them as they move to slow to
care about. As for the rest of the
island I don't remember seeing them
anywhere else.

You usually see them around the pool areas and the outdoor dining areas (they sit and wait for you to feed them). They are not aggressive at all.
|
I also saw them around the pool. Two large lizards ran under my chaise lounge and frightened me at first because they moved so fast. But then realized what they were and turned around to see that the gardeners were trimming the bushes around the hotel. I'm sure they were disturbed out of their shady spot and ran under my chair. They are certainly harmless.
