I think WWK meant Screaming Eagle. It's a very nice splurge restaurant.

Yes I think he meant Screaming Eagle there is also the Flying Fishbone" but it is pretty far away. It is a feet in your sand on the ocean type of place very romantic. There is also Wacky Wahoo's but it is not fine dining but great food at a reasonable price. Also

Papiamento's (sp?) If you go to aruba.com sight there are many suggestions and info on there that could be helpful to you. Out of them all I highly suggest Madam Jeanettes. It is my favorite and I never miss a visit there for dinner.

Sorry! I DID mean Screaming Eagle!

We've been to Flying Fishbone, too. It's quite a ride from the hotels, but the food is good, the setting on the beach really nice. However, it's pricey. I guess it could be a good splurge dinner?

WWK--Agree Flying Fishbone is a hike even by taxi it is about $60.00 round trip. We went once and although atmosphere is awesome, I did not find the trip or food to rate a second visit.

They did ask for "fine dining." For the atmosphere there are plenty right along Palm Beach. Sunset Grill is on the beach, and Moombas across from the Marriot Hotel is nice for feet in the sand, torches, and the food was good as I recall. There is also Aqua Grill. Not of the beach but good food.

diann24,

We visited Flying Fishbone two years ago and thought it was great. Maybe it has gone downhill since then? Have to agree with you that the taxi ride along may put some people off, and you're right again that it doesn't exactly qualify as "fine dining." That's more a Madame Jeanettes or Chalet Suisse experience.

WWK Yes Chalet Suisse, and the other once right across the street from Amseterdam hotel on the beach. Can't think of the name. It escapes me for the time being.

We were at Flying Fishbone longer then 2 years ago, it was more like 6 years ago. I would assume it is better now then it was then. We had a car, got lost, on the way back. I believe it was our first trip to Aruba. I love Aruba!
