Aruba Price?

Okay, so...for now at least, we've decided on Aruba for our Jan 2005 honeymoon. I'm getting paranoid because I know of some people who have already booked for later in 2005. I'm holding off because I'm wondering if the prices may still go down. Right now, I'm looking at staying at the Divi Dutch for 7 nights and air from O'Hare for $2132 for both of us. I think this is pretty reasonable, but I'm wondering if I should grab it, or do you think it may go down? I like to use funjet.com but it doesn't even have Aruba prices up for that time period yet, so I'm afraid if I wait until it does, it might not be cheaper than Travelocity. I know it's nowhere near an exact science, but does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not I should wait? Thanks so much!

I am also traveling in Jan 2005. I emailed Funjet and they said that January schedules should be posted by the end of May. Hope that helps.

hi eahayden ~
Here's what I did for my Aruba trip planned for November 2004:

Priced these sources:
1) Expedia
2) MCM Tours
3) Funjet
4) Liberty Travel

After I collected all of my quotes, I called my travel agent @Liberty Travel. When she gave me her quote, I told her that MCM Tours could do better than that. She said she would call me back. Low & behold Liberty Travel matched the lowest price I could find! I was really happy since I had done business w/them several Xs previously & they are actual travel agents that have an office that I can visit. I've purchased airline tickets through Expedia before, but didn't want to buy a whole package from a website w/no personal contact.

BTW, I found funjet had the most expensive package deal for me. Your price from Travelocity sounds good for a 7 night stay, but you really have time to compare prices of different sources.
Good luck & congrats on your upcoming wedding! My husband & I are celebrating 20 years of marital bliss....yeah, right! ;)

This message is for eahayden. Are you aware that the Divi Dutch Village is having extensive and much needed renovations? If you get a renovated unit it will be nice, if you get a non-renovated unit, you will not be happy.

My travel agent books through MCM Tours. I was told that if you book direct w/ MCM or w/ a TA who uses them and prices go down they will honor the lower price. If they go up you are locked in at the lower rate.

You might want to check them out. www.aruba4u.com.

Good luck and congratulations!
