Aruba Marriott or Marriott Ocean Club

Does anyone have thoughts on staying at the main Marriott vs. the Ocean CLub timeshares (adjacent to the property)? Is it a pain getting back and forth? Are the rooms much nicer???

We stayed at the Aruba Marriott Ocean Club last month. It's easy to walk back and forth from the Ocean Club to the hotel. We rented a 1BR unit with a full kitchen and with a jacuzzi. Usually, the rooms at the Ocean club costs more than the rooms at the hotel but we rented this unit from a timeshare owner for $900/wk so we saved a lot of money. I would definitely recommend the ocean club vs. the hotel.

I guess my main concern was that we would get there and feel "out of it" not staying at the hotel itself, that it may be a big deal to pack up stuff and go to the pool over there, etc. But, they do share all the same amentities...I have heard that the rooms are MUCH nicer at Ocean Club. I just don't want to miss all of the action.
And I don't want to get there and second guess my decision!
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!

I stayed at the Ocean Club in Sept 2001...I didn't feel left out of the action...in fact it's an easy walk over to the hotel, we ate at several of the resturants, went to the casino each night and had an easy walk to the beach. I prefer the condo over a hotel everytime because my husband is an early riser. He can get up, have coffee and read his newspaper without disturbing me. I love the space that the condo provides!!!
Enjoy

After staying at the Marriott Ocean Club, I wouldn't even consider staying in the hotel. You get so spoiled having a full suite to yourself - full kitchen, dining area, living room with TV, large bedroom with TV, large bathroom - it is great. As for feeling left out of activities at the hotel, there appeared to be just as much going on at the MOC as there was at the resort.

If you have a choice, stay at the Ocean Club!

I stayed at the hotel 3 times. We did tour the Ocean Club also. I prefer the hotel pool way better, but the rooms at the ocean club were very spacious. We may consider going to the ocean club, because you do share the ammenities. Either way you choose, you won't be disapointed.

Have a wonderful time!

Depends on when you are going. There is construction going on by the Ocean Club and depending on where your room is located could be bothersome but fine at the hotel.
