I had no problem with my room at the Radisson. I got excatly what I requested, no hassles. I would just call and confirm a few days before you arrive and you shouldn't have any problems.
Personally I found the staff to be willing to bend over backwards to accomodate. I am so jealous! I wish I was going! |
Thanks for the info Kristen!! Believe it or not I don't mind the location of my room as much as we just want a king size bed. Two doubles for a couple is ridiculous.
What kind of room/rate did you pay for? Did you book through MCM? I was so psyched about the deal we could get at Wyndham - but I think the extra $ is worth it at the Rad. Thks again! |
Has anyone ever stayed at the Renaissance and would you recommend it?
My family and I are going to Aruba in August and I am still trying to decide where to stay. 2 boys 14 & 9 so I need to be somewhere with lots of activity. Any suggestions woulfd be appreciated. Deanna |
Hi Arubajoey (and Kristen),
Don't worry too much about the double bed thing. First, Aug is a slower season, and second, chances are you will get what you request. If you don't, just be firm and they will accomodate you. I agree with Kristen, the staff there are wonderful. Don't worry, you will have a great time! |
Thanks - actually we are going August 28th into beginning of September - so lots of honeymooners are bound to be there no? So that is why we were concerned.
Thks again! |
Arubajoey...I actually booked my trip through USAirways Vacations but when I called to confirm, I called the hotel directly. We just got a ground floor room with a King size. I wasn't concerned with where the room was for that trip just that we had a king bed and we did!
I think you you made a great choice with the Radisson. |
Deanna...I would not recommend the Renaissance as it it right in the middle of rown on the busy main drag. It's not on the beach...you have to take a boat ride to get to their island.
Stay on Palm Beach... |
No question...go with the Hyatt. The grounds are amazing!

My two cents:
10 visits to Aruba: 3 stays at the Radisson, 2 stays at the Wyndham Radisson more upscale than the Wyndham. Best value on Palm Beach is deluxe ocean/poolview or Junior Oceanfront Suite accommodations at the Wyndham. Aruba is a FAMILY island. Also VERY popular with honeymooners. We usually go in June (another month for honeymmoners) and have NEVER had a problem getting a KING size bed at either resort. Radisson has three towers, we've been in the Aruba tower (the one with larger rooms) and the Bonaire. We prefer the Bonaire Tower because it is more centrally located- just walk down the stairs to the beach and pool, no waiting for elevators, blah, blah, blah. Last I checked with the Radisson about a month ago there is no way to pay for a "guaranteed" room in the Aruba tower. Even if you want to pay extra. If you have to stay in the Aruba tower, stay in an Aruba Suite. |
Thanks for all the responses - even though I did not start this thread, everyone here has really helped me make my choice.
We are staying at the Wyndham in a deluxe oceanview room and taking the all inclusive. Got a phenomenal deal - the Radisson was just a bit out of our budget this time around. The Wyndham's all inclusive was only about $200 more per person for the week vs. a partial oceanview (the lowest I planned to go in room category at the Rad) at the Rad with breakfast (through Players Choice). Hope everyone getting ready to go to Aruba has a fantastic trip! Thanks again! |
If you go to the Radisson for breakfast ask for Rudy, he is the host there, he will give you royal treatment everytime. The service at the Raddison is THE BEST. WE missed our connector in San Juan (because JFK airport in NY screwed up our flight) so we had to loose one night at the Radisson. They gave us one of our nights free and free breakfast everyday. NOw that's customer service. IT wasn't even their fault that we were late coming in.
Anyway, just thought someone might like that story. Enjoy the Wyndham, the beach is right next to the Radisson's and it is wonderful. (Also eat lunch at Gilligan's right on Palm Beach in front of the Rad. Best burgers and great live music. |
Thanks we opted for all inclusive at Wyndham so doubt we will eat breakfast or lunch at the Rad. But maybe next time we are in Aruba!
