ARUBA March with kids
Has anyone gone with children to Aruba
in early March...Not spring break, but a
long week break. Would there be other
children at that time. Don't want our
child to feel that he is with only
honeymooner types.

If you stay at a family-oriented resort there will be plenty of children. We were there in early March and there were lots. Pretty much all of March is some area of the country's spring break. I suggest Marriott Aruba Ocean Club or La Cabana. Taking our kids to Marriott October 31 - November 8 (fall break for NJ) and will post a report when we return.

eileen~are you doing Marriott Ocean Club next week? I am just beginning to explore that resort, so I would be very curious about your impressions. They have an excellent deal for week of Dec.11. $425/nite 2br/2ba,7th nite free & rental car for 5 days. I plan vacations for my extended family & hope to find the "perfect' place. We usually enjoy Sanibel Island week between Christmas & NY's, however plans have been changed due to the storms. The biggest thing I'm hesitant about is the huge resort atmosphere...we enjoy staying in low key, low rise(2 story) condos on Sanibel. Any info will be very appreciated....have a great trip!

HI we stayed at the Marriott hotel part in Aruba last spring break for my school-end of March. We took our kids and there were plenty of others there. The ocean club has the best beach area and the building is about 5 stories high(?) I am guessing. It looks like a really nice time share complex. They have the same pool and poolbar as the hotel and in my opinion was a little nicer than the hotel. The Marriott is the end hotel on the island and so it is a little quieter than some of the other areas on Palm Beach. There are a ton of watersports activities available right out front. You can walk down to some of the other hotels, Holiday Inn and Hyatt are not far. There are some restaurants nearby. We cabbed it to the others. Children are acceptable almost anywhere on the island, in the restaurants, etc... Dress is casual almost everywhere. I brought some nice outfits and wound up wearing nice shorts and top everynight. And we went to some nice places. For more info there is a bulletin board forum website aruba-bb.com

Brurosen -- what are the exact dates you will be there? We are arriving on Halloween -- do you know of any halloween festivities there? We didn't know if we should bring the costumes or not? My seven year old will be looking for kids to play with, he is very social. We are staying October 31 - November 8 at the Ocean Club.
For anyone else interested, I will post a trip report when we return.
