Aruba...just curious...
does anyone know if the incident on Aruba has hurt tourism thus far?
|
Reports are that it has not.

One thing to consider is that people often make reservations months in advance... I've had paid reservations (flight and hotel) since April for a trip next month.
I HATE that this has happened - there are very good people who live there that this could hurt.... and I've made some very good friends on my trips there. All that said, I doubt that I'll return after this trip. There really are too many other places to go....... but I really do hate it. I think there will be a mild drop-off over the next couple of years... |
i have no real info but i do recieve e-mails from numerous travel discount sites and have noticed that many are offering deep discount specials to aruba. this may be completely by co-incidence.

My uneducated guess is that it is coincidence since September/October/November are typically the cheapest months to travel anywhere in the Caribbean.
My guess is "the incident" will not hurt tourism however only time will tell. |
When we went to make out reservations found out hotels are pretty much filled to capacity now and well into the future so doesn't seem like it has hurt tourism in the least.
