I found this article. Many people ask about the chances of hurricanes to the Caribbean this time of year--Aruba has the least chance and is the number one spot.

Most experienced Caribbean travelers are already aware that the threat of hurricanes in Aruba is very low.

For what it is worth, you can research the frequency of "hurricane hits" for any island in the Caribbean at www. Stormcarib.com - use the "Climatology" link on the homepage to select "Hits&Misses" - scroll down click on the island of you are researching. You will be directed to a chart showing the dates of every hurricane that has affected that island since 1851. If you study the data you will realize that the odds of a major storm hitting a specific island during any given week are relatively small.

But for the record, it's still a crapshoot anyway, because all it takes is 1 during YOUR PERSONAL vacation to have that much fun! Doesn't matter how many have hit whichever islands, because you can't predict it. Even Aruba has had hurricanes and Tropical Storms. And wash out weeks of vacations.

Quite frankly, odds are hurricanes won't hit any island you pick, and if I were a weatherman I'd love to have a job where I could be 70% wrong and still get paid.

The good thing about hurricanes is most take a week to brew up, so if aiming for which island you're on you still have time to react.

But I still don't get the " go lower than Antigua" for less chances, because they get them too!

The farther south you go in the Caribbean, the less chance of a hurricane. They are rare from Barbados on south, and particularly rare in the ABCs (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao.) Even w/o a hurricane, some days during hurricane season can be wet because of smaller storms or a more distant hurricane.
