Aruba budget hotel recommendation?

We plan to go to Aruba at the end of August with my wife and two boys age 8 and age 3. Any suggestion on any hotel that is family friendly and with easy access to beach. I heard Mill resort & suites is cheap and need to cross street to the beach. Is this any concern and does anyone stay at this before or with any suggestion? Thanks.

Have you looked into the Holiday Inn? I am sure that it can not be too bad. It has a great beach and is beachfront. It has a nice lobby area for a holiday inn. I have not seen the rooms and understand that the pool area has undergone some recent renovations.

I just checked mid August prices at the Holiday Inn and the nightly rate for two double bed room is 124 dollars per night. A superior room with two double beds is 140 per night. That is a great rate since the Marriott next door is charging about 350 for the same view!

We stayed at the Manchebo and loved it - usually priced about the same as the Holiday Inn. Both are directly on the beach.

It's a very short walk across the street and past (or through) the Wyndham to get from the Mill to the beach. Mill has a nice pool, and some units have kitchenettes, which is helpful with kids.

Another possibility is Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort - across a small street to the beach, but closer to the water than The Mill; some units have kitchenettes.

Check with Travel Unlimited www.travelunlimited.com but I think I remember being told that kids under 18 stay free.

My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance Aruba Resort and casino. It has its own private island and a small boat comes into the hotel center and takes you there. It was a great location for shopping too. I would chose a room away from the main road because it can get a bit loud there at night if you don't. But over all it was a great location and the people were very friendly.
